February 2, 201412 yr 39 28 24 AWOLNATION Sail "Sail" has 24 weeks in the chart or 16...? Because *Ben* had this chart run in the Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show. Chart Run: 73-54-49-39-42-31-22-23-20-18-25-31-17-19-28-39

February 2, 201412 yr Author 16 in the top 75 and 24 in the top 100 (or 200?). 24 weeks top 200. Only 17 weeks top 100.
February 2, 201412 yr Would have loved Gary Barlow to have stayed top 10 but 13 is a nice improvement on the number 17 mid week position.
February 2, 201412 yr  at Elyar Fox, crashing out of the top 40 after just 2 weeks!!! Looks like being the new Conor Maynard of chart runs, the record company need to do something big for the next single to turn this disaster around because that's pretty bad but I don't like the guy or the song so either way I'm not fussed! Fantastic for Katy, though I just wish she would swap with that awful Will.i.am track
February 2, 201412 yr Sheryl Crow came very close to scoring a top 75 hit again there. Radio 2 seems to be having slightly more of an impact on download sales recently.

February 2, 201412 yr Rebecca Ferguson got a very insignificant boost from her Dancing On Ice performance, considering the low sales environment. The single itself, 'All That I've Got', is fairly rubbish though in my opinion so I'm not hugely surprised. Her team really aren't the best at picking singles, although I liked 'I Hope'. Also, I don't know what to make of 'Story Of My Life''s chart-run- 10 weeks top 10 and only 3 further weeks in the top 40?! It's still top 10 on radio so it's not like there's been a sudden drop in support.
February 2, 201412 yr Surely more down to Graham Norton than Radio 2 :P I don't watch it so I wouldn't know!

It's still top 10 on radio so it's not like there's been a sudden drop in support. It only really stayed top 10 for so long cause of a lack of new releases in general TBH. 13 weeks top 40 is still quite impressive for them!

February 2, 201412 yr It's very impressive but when you look at the breakdown of positions, it's a bit bizarre :P Oh yeah, I'm sure I'll look back on that in a few years and wonder how it dropped so quickly
February 3, 201412 yr Author I'm not too surprised at 1D dropping out of the top 40 quickly after their lengthy top 10 run. Look at the things that extended their top 10 run: > The first few weeks of its run included all iTunes pre-orders of their album as well as downloads of the song itself > It was performed on XF a few weeks after release rather than straight away > It was boosted by the gift card effect near the end of its top 10 run > General lack of new releases for most of the latter half of its top 10 run It's not hard to see how it was propped up for longer than most of their singles. (note that I'm not saying this 'invalidates' their run or anything (maybe aside from the first point a little bit) - obviously artists should promote and it's good business sense for acts like them to release something at the end of the year when there's a potential gift card boost and not many new releases, it's just that those things are more the reason for its long run in the top 10 rather than it actually being a properly big crossover hit (though it was that to an extent as well) and the fact it left the top 40 so quickly afterwards provides evidence for that)
February 3, 201412 yr ^ Wow, thanks for that very comprehensive reply- I'd forgotten about a few of those factors. I do think I had an inflated idea of its crossover appeal but I still would have thought it'd hang around a little longer due to its huge exposure. Anyway, it's still on course to become their second-highest seller soon :)
February 3, 201412 yr Singles 11 32 07 OneRepublic If I Lose Myself 32 75 62 Imagine Dragons Radioactive Shouldn't they both be new entries as Alesso vs. OneRepublic and Imagine Dragons feat. Kendrick Lamar?
