Don't you think Osborne or May have a chance to succeed Cameron Craig?

Absolutely no chance of Gideon getting the gig, he has done a great job as chancellor but has a serious image problem

May is at best a safe pair of hands, a female Major

The Conservatives might be crazy, but I doubt they're suicidal enough to make George Osborne their leader

Theresa May or William Hague is their best bet for next leader I think.

Boris is a shoe in for the job i would say provided it is after 2015 and not before, although it should really be now

Why would that be a bad thing? In case you've forgotten, Major was the last Tory leader who managed to get a majority. Now 22 years ago and counting :kink:

You're in desperate need of someone who comes from a relatively normal upbringing like that. Say what you want, but people are NEVER going to accept that they should be told they need to suffer cuts when that message is coming from a pampered prince(ss) who's never had to do a hard day's work in their life - and Boris WOULD fall into that category if he was carrying out the kind of policies the current government are, no matter how much popularity he might have right now when he's carefully avoiding being associated with the government's snobby and anti-poor policies.

The main thing that has bought about the foreign investment is the world seeing London as such an amazing place due to the olympics, Boris played a huge part in that

HAHA, brilliant. Which part exactly?

But look at what happened to Major in 1997, worst defeat we have suffered probably ever, May is solid and reliable but she is not dynamic and we need a dynamic leader, Maggie was dynamic, Blair was till Iraq, Boris is

He made headlines all over the world with his dad dancing to the Spice Girls and also swinging along that wire etc, plus the olympics happened under his watch even if he didn't play a huge part in organising them

Ah so he took credit for someone else's hard work and revelled in all the glory. What a great quality in a future leader. :P

Gove who is the only other serious contender for the leadership is a highly intelligent man but is not the type to inspire people, Boris is

Gove? Surely not!

Gove? Surely not!

He is the most right wing of the current cabinet :) and liked by the grassroots, but i see him as a John Redwood type guy, a great intellectual and ideas man but not pm material

And detested by the public.

And detested by the public.

It is a fast increasing right wing general public now

Most of the country are very anti benefit claimant

Most of the country are anti immigration

Most of the country are anti Europe

Most of the country are anti human rights act

That is just a selection of right wing areas that are very popular in this country

And at the same time...

Most of the country think the super-rich are greedy and should be paying more tax.

Most of the country think big businesses are generally ripping us off and shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

Most of the country now don't care if bankers or other so-called "wealth-creators" flee to other countries.

Most of the country think more money should be spent on the NHS and education.

What you're basically saying is that the public have been MISLED by the media.

The main thing that has bought about the foreign investment is the world seeing London as such an amazing place due to the olympics, Boris played a huge part in that

Such as what apart from using it as a platform for his own self publicity? The bid was won under Ken Livingstone with a lot of help from Seb Coe and Tony Blair. Most of the organisation was overseen by Coe, not Johnson (or Livingstone before him). Besides, foreign buyers were buying London properties long before the Olympics so trying to link the two simply does not work.

And your evidence for those assertions comes from where exactly? Thankfully the front pages of the press don't always reflect public opinion.

I won't bother arguing about the HRA because you have shown on countless previous occasions that you know nothing about it.
