I personally hope they don't. There's nothing wrong with desperation when in a situation like theirs.

I don't think it's that desperate in the slightest - If 'Not Giving Up' peaks top 10 it looks really good for their next campaign. Many acts reduce their single to 59p to ensure some sort of success. 'Titanium' was reduced to 59p which resulted it going to #01, 'Counting Stars' was 59p which provided it with airplay and it also going to #01.

If 'Not Giving Up' goes top 10 there will no doubt be a slight increase in airplay what is needed.

I knew everyone would call The Saturdays desperate for reducing their 5th single to 59p. Nobody called Ellie Goulidng desperate, or Foxes or Enrique.

Where are live pop bars? I wonder if NGU is still in the top 1,000. I'm waiting for them to Tweet/Facebook that it's 59p again.

1.5 weeks until release and STILL no daytime airplay from Capital or anywhere else. It's pathetic and quite unfair. Their last single went top 5 and sold 135k, surely that's not bad enough for everyone to snub them with a better song?

Maybe they should've kept this as a traditional release but whatever, too late for should'ves.
If it was a traditional release it would have done a Hold Me Down/Beautiful 'Cause You Live Me/Midnight Memories/Loving You Is Easy/Glow In The Dark.
Agreed, it wouldn't have made top 40 with a traditional release. The 'album-only' factor is the only thing that'll get this in the top 20. Even 'Lovin' You is Easy' got better airplay than this, and only charted in the top 200.

You can't exactly say that though; it may just may have climbed iTunes enough for it to be considered for normal rotation............may

I have thought, maybe radios didn't play it because they didn't realise it was 'album only' and expected it to have had some sort of impact on iTunes.

Oh dear - they really should be promoting of all pave twitter and Facebook every day, neon jungle are even top 400 and out 3 weeks later!
Neon Jungle are a new act following on from the quite successful Braveheart so that's expected.

Neon Jungle are actually 654, and have been around there all day - But it's still very good for something that's not out for ages. (though they don't have an EP, neither does Sigma or Iggy - but that won't make MUCH difference)

The single mix jumped from nowhere to 540 when they tweeted about it being 59p yesterday. It's not rocket science to keep plugging the 59p factor? Foxes was posting it on facebook like twice a day. :nono:

The Saturdays label are idiots, case #28101929201.

Basically.

But since they still haven't dropped them off, let's say they are nice people.

Why are they not utilising the fact it's 59p and tweeting about it?!

This thread makes me sad and slightly angry at the same time.

- all From one play on capital. If this had proper radio treatment I would be smashing and I don't even think I'm being delusional.
