This will do just as much as 'What About Us' in other countries, probably even less.

What's important right now is the UK. This need to be a hit for them.

Agreed - I think most of the international chances they'll get have gone.

It's frikking great :yahoo: Disco Love barely passed 1.5 million the week before release and it ended up peaking at #5. So far the perception is that people are liking this single more.

Even though I prefer Disco Love, I've always said this would connect with the public.^

I was just checking out Lee's thread from last year to predict What About Us. The amount of people saying it would have a terrible chart run / would miss the top 10. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...149720&st=0 Hopefully there'll be a repeat of this.

Capital have started playing The Vamps' track that's out the same week now, hopefully some plays for Not Giving Up are coming, though I have a funny feeling Capital have snubbed The Saturdays....

The Vamps track only premiered today and Capital had the first play. I think they also have that airplay deal with Global Talent/Capital like Lawson and The Wanted so they'll be plugging them constantly. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't play Not Giving Up regularly but don't think we should be writing it off as a snub just yet. :)

I hope you're right! I just think it's a little odd they didn't post the single/video on their website as usual.

This Umi girl was incredibly spot on and right, though!

I think the success of this depends hugely on how it does in the US, or rather how the media view how it does in the US. It seems to have plenty going for it that '30 Days' didn't have - Capital are playing it (well, according to Lee) and fans seem to actually like it rather than thinking "eh, it's not completely awful" so I find it hard to imagine it doing any worse than their previous single. But after that, I think the media will play a huge role. If the papers cover their attempt to break the US positively (and often) then it could perhaps be their first #1. But if they ignore it / comment negatively, the song will be a #5 that has no longevity. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

It's possible Capital have snubbed The Saturdays because they are going against 'The Vamps'. It's also possible they just aren't playing because it isn't out until 6 weeks.

I guess at least this delivers in the way that it is pretty much unanimously liked/loved.

Something from the "What About Us" prediction thread...

I am going to go out on a limb and say, this is their first single with Rochelle getting the opening lines and say that will make it their first number one.

Judging by that coming true. "Not Giving Up" should be their second #1!

You've jinxed it now :o

I think it gets alot of views from kids coming home from school lol. After plodding a few thousand views an hour, it's shot up 3K in about twenty minutes. It also done well at the weekends.
I was annoyed that Greg played Disco Love earlier and not Not Giving Up, but I guess it is still 1 or 2 weeks too early. And it's promising for NGU that they're playing The Saturdays at all at this point.
Guys it's WAAAAAAAAAY too early to be saying it's been snubbed by radio. Radio 1 will barely play it at all until 3/4 weeks before release when it will get playlisted. Capital will have it there within the next couple of weeks, there's really NO hurry just yet.

 That's what I need to hear. *Listens to Not Giving Up and goes about his evening*

In all due respect, You really need to wait until it's fully updated in views. This is how youtube have counted day to day views;

Day 1 - 100,000

Day 2 - 62,000

Day 3 - 130,000

Day 4 - 180,000

Total - 472,000

The rest haven't been updated completely so it's obv done more than that

Read a comment and it made me slightly smirk :P

I've just been checking it in the mornings and it's over 6000,000 now.

Yeah it's just that youtube will be counting one day from when it was added so it'll be a tad more accurate. That's all :)
