I like it!

That unfortunately doesn't mean anything except that it'll hang around the tv chart for a while, it'll go up a few places before dropping and staying between 30-40 till release

Not necessarily. What About Us entered the Top 40 several weeks prior to release and stayed in the Top 10/20 until release. Then it peaked a few weeks after. Not Giving Up could do the same. The fact that it has entered the Top 40 so early is a good sign.

I was thinking the same!! I hope music channels lap this up!!

Well that may not necessarily happen this time round either so we'll have to see I guess ;)

I mean: Frankie Sandford has always been rather generous by offering her videos to those peasant channels.

Anyway, you were wrong.

YASSSS!

Kiss snubbed 'Gentlemen' and 'Disco Love' and played 'What About Us', here's hoping that 'Not Giving Up' could be a genuine hit.

:cheer: I'm actually really really really REALLY excited :dancing: :music: :yahoo:

Up to 36 on rolling tv airplay.

Hopefully r1 will playlist them a week early today ;)

To be honest, I'm not expecting Radio 1 to playlist them before a good 2 weeks.

Surely it'll be most likely next week? R1's usual is 3 weeks before the release. I know they did it a week later with Disco Love, but that was coming off a major flop. Didn't even Gentleman get C listed 3 weeks before? If They're getting the same C-B-A playlisting treatment WAU got - which is what I'm hoping for, it'll be next week anyway, so here's hoping. B-)

It's been so long since a Sats release that I forgot how R1 actually work, especially since they changed their shit.

When are they adding new songs to their playlist now? Monday, right? But I think the song doesn't get played until the week after it was said to be 'playlisted', is that it?

Anyway, I'm just not expecting Radio 1 to jump on this right away.

They post their playlists on Wednesday for the week commencing the following Monday. They tend to give most tracks 3 or 4 weeks on the playlist leading up to relase (3 being most common, unless you're Lily Allen, in which case you get 7 - ha). They don't usually do it 2 weeks like they did with Disco Love, usually that's the time to give up hope. But we'll see, you never know with R1. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed it'll be next Wednesday's new playlist.

Roughly a month until the release and two weeks since the video release. Time has gone quite fast I'd say

I actually agree.

I didn't realise the release was just a month away. It seems the video premiered only last week!

I'm kind of glad the song is "album only" now. I just noticed that Union J's post album single didn't even go top 150 and that was also a pretty good song. I couldn't live if Not Giving Up done the same.

4 weeks this Sunday I think until release. Could be wrong.

I doubt it!

JLS didn't go top 100 with 'Hold Me Down', One Direction haven't went top 40 with 'Midnight Memories' (yet) and Girls Aloud flopped horribly with 'Beautiful 'Cos You Love Me' and they're all post album singles. It could easily have happened with 'Not Giving Up' (even if it is an amazing song).

Hopefully not!

Well to be fair, I think Hold Me Down and BCYLM are both examples of really poorly handled releases. BCYLM didn't get a physical release or an iTunes EP, and wasn't sent to radio. Hold Me Down didn't get a video I believe (at least not for a while) and it wasn't promoted. Midnight Memories still has time. Not Giving Up is being handled SO much better right now.
