She already has a strong amount of physical pre orders through her website. I wonder if the £45 vinyl and cd package will be classed as 2 sales. I think a minimum sale of 50k.

The Voice will help her too. She is coming across well to the general public. Into the Blue is now top 20 on airplay and is heading for the top ten.

Can't see Pharrell having huge initial sales. He isn't known for albums. May sell a lot over time though.

I want this to get to Number 1. Really deserves too.. Loving every track after hearing the previews.. YES, even Sexercise..... :)

Sleeping with the Enemy is pure LUSH

I wouldn't be confident on the single going to #1 or top 3, but the album has a great chance of getting to #1. Like Madonna, Kylie has that legacy fanbase (at least 50K?) who'll buy anything she puts out (gold or turd) and in the current album market, that should be enough for a #1. How much it will totally sell is a different story. Let's also not forget the added viewership with The Voice which would probably be more beneficial than an X Factor appearance (isn't this the first time she's been on TV screens consistently since Neighbours?!)
It is isn't it?! :o Can't believe Kylie's been here for sooo long

this album is so amazing... I just love 'I was gonna cancel' with Pharrell Williams, this should've been the 1st single, also 'Les Sex' is pure pop guilty pleasure....

but I think the album will definitely go top 3 selling between 30-35 k... She chose the wrong time to release it, I guess Pharrell will be ahead given his current popularity and also maybe George Michael since he hasn't released anything in years....

I think it'll do better than the single and'll be an easy #1 20-40K
Kian is quite popular, is his album out the same time?

Don't know but Kylie's pre-orders have been through the roof so it won't be a big problem if it is the same week release

But he's not even releasing on the same week as Kylie - in fact *two weeks* before, and his one previous album only got to #7.

OK, he's obviously going to do *much* better this time, but not so much that his 3rd week sales would be better than Kylie's 1st!

4/5 star review in Q

Nice!! Do you have a link? I couldn't find it on google.

Also on a Kylie related subject, is Say Hey down? I predict someone leaked the entire album and so it shut?

Also is it just me or are some of you really underestimating her first week sales to be less than 50K? I get that albums aren't selling well now but for a heritage/established act who's got a big radio hit, I think she'll do more if not at least 50K!

its interesting...

should definitely go top 5, I expect top 3....

if you think they have extended the £45 package from 2,500 limited edition to 3,500 and that's the most expensive so must have sold the 2.5k already

then there are the physical CDs, Vinyl album, digital album all with different bones tracks etc, kylie fans will buy them all.... been on iTunes for 7 weeks so much have collected nearly a thousand pre-orders on there?

On play.com it is pre-order and both copies are top 20 now and climbing.... not doing great on Amazon.....

wonder if we will already have some pricing strategies...

a lot also depends on Into The Blue.... if it can get top 10 would generate album sales... but not sure it will, may only just get top 20... but hope I am wrong..

she is not on Jonathan Ross on 8th... unless she is just singing the song as Elbow are on this date

G Norton also finishes with a complitation edition on 7th March..

I am still hoping for a pre-recorded 'live' version on the voice battlerounds on the 8th...

I agree - I would be very disappointed if she didn't shift >50k.

  • 2 weeks later...

It was up to 120 on itunes this morning.. hopefully it will keep rising.

Shame there is no promotion planned this week.

Is this a first for Kylie?

I think they are pumping money at single 2 this time round..

The fact that she's signed to Roc Nation for mgmt./record promotion would mean they know what they're doing (if Rita Ora and Rihanna are anything to go by). My theory is that they're going for a slow burn - make some noise with the first single and take the hype up with singles 2 , 3 and 4. If single 2 is the Enrique song, it hopefully means it'll get R1 playlist (and hope they don't pull a "Higher" on that!)

I think it will do good probably top 3... think Pharrel and G Michael are the main problem from a number 1.

I think she has sold nearly 3,000 at £45 special edition from her own website so that's a lot of pre-orders already...

I doubt G Michael will be... it's a live album. Unless he has some amazing promo lined up?
