March 19, 201411 yr What about Madonna? She was recently spotted in the studio with Avicii i don't think so... she's not a huge seller anymore...
March 19, 201411 yr Yeah because songs that were recorded over a week ago would make it onto an album coming out imminetly.

March 20, 201411 yr Yeah because songs that were recorded over a week ago would make it onto an album coming out imminetly. Rihanna begs to differ.
March 20, 201411 yr Rihanna begs to differ. ouch :w00t: does anyone know when this album will be released? Edited March 20, 201411 yr by jsilv
March 20, 201411 yr To be fair though, when she was promoting 'Our Version of Events' in the US, she was hyped a fair bit. And the article, despite being a US source, could obviously be taking international success into consideration. International =/= UK. please bye 2 u and ur xenophobia~ Rihanna begs to differ. !!! (so true tho) 'oh SHIT it's mid-OCTOBER already?! need 2 write me 10 songs PRONTO' (release date: November 9~)
March 20, 201411 yr Rihanna is touring with Eminem this Summer, so that makes me think she'll have a new album out before then
March 20, 201411 yr It is ridiculous Rihanna gets slack for being able to release an album a year. I mean she obviously isn't that involved in the writing/producing process (but then so many other artist aren't either) so why wouldn't she be able to record 20 songs in a few weeks for an album? I mean do the likes of Kylie and Madonna really need however many years between albums when we know their actual involvement in them are pretty minimal? It isn't like Rihanna's music suffers either, she manages to have 2 or 3 absolute stonkers of hits on each album and then the rest is decent, which is basically all most albums are anyway.
March 20, 201411 yr I appreciate you're a fan but a little research needs to be done before posting things like this. To take Madonna for example ,she at least Co writes almost all songs on her albums and co produces much of them as well. This is much more involvement than Rihanna has which goes some way to explaining the time frames between albums. I have no wish to turn this thread into a one artist vs another but we need to get the facts right.

I have no wish to turn this thread into a one artist vs another but we need to get the facts right. Rihanna has co-writing credits on Unapologetic, it came out a year after Talk That Talk. It is easily do-able. I mean Tori Amos released an album in 98 and in 99 and both she wrote every word, she played a zillion instruments on both, she produced both and composed both. If artist really want to work hard and get as much of their work out there as possible it shouldn't be seen as a bad thing.
March 20, 201411 yr This wasn't your argument though. I don't dispute that Rihanna does do some co writing but not to the level or the consistency that Madonna does on her albums therefore whilst she does have some input it is not to the level of Madonna. Madonna also promotes with world tours and more extensively than Amos in part as she has a wider fan base. This is however a question as to how Rihanna can churn out an album a year whilst other acts that you mentioned, namely Madonna and Kylie can't.
March 20, 201411 yr It's the Spice girls That would be actually fun, as no one would have seen it coming and no one would know what to expect from a new Spice Girls album. However even without Vic I find it hard to believe the other 4 could record a whole album (even separately) and the media not get wind of it.
March 20, 201411 yr Reading it again, it could be a band as they refer the whole time to [unnamed artist] or [The artist], when 'This person' suits better on certain bits.
March 20, 201411 yr Ed Sheeran is springing to mind even more, he's due a new album Didn't Ed Sheeran say in an interview earlier this year that he's releasing a new album in March?
March 20, 201411 yr Ed's album is due out this summer. The first single from it is debuting next month.
