The best thing about this single release is that it already has a top 20 peak, so it's done better than Midnight Memories automatically if you look at it that way :lol: Hopefully it can repeak but I'm doubtful.

That's an excellent point! I think if they get the video right, it might re-peak slightly higher. I think the video to midnight memories let them down, which is why it probably didn't do as well.

It's the completely messed up release that cocked up MM I think. X Factor performance 3 months before the EP is out, and for most of those weeks, it was lingering in the top 100. It lost too many sales for its impact week through trickling :(

It seemed like they only had two performances on The X Factor for the sake of it - they could easily have waited until the final to perform 'Story of My Life' with no performance in any of the other weeks, and then performed 'Midnight Memories' on some other talent show. :kink:

I've no doubt that Simon will have them on BGT this year.

Nah they performed Story of My Life at the *exact* right time IMO, it would've fallen out of the top 10 after just 4 weeks otherwise but the performance gave it a new lease of life, getting it to 10 weeks.
