Louis Theroux is back with three new documentaries, all centered around LA.

Did anybody else watch, or intend to watch the episode tonight, or future episodes? I think he's an excellent documentary maker. He has a way of conveying a view point that's aggressive, but masking it in a neutral and calm way. Tonight's episode was meant to be the happiest of the three, so the next couple must be pretty glum!

That's what annoys me about him lol. He's extremely passive aggressive. Also he goes to people and pretends to be neutral and genuinely curious about their point of view, but really what he wants to do is make a fool of them (and often the people he's talking to are aware of that).

He needs to be more direct and honest imo.

I don't think he's passive aggressive. Sure he may not always hold a neutral view (see the Neo-Nazi and Phelps docs) but he anchors his points in a way question their beliefs without wanting to make a fool out of them. I've seen some really silly things said by some people on his documentaries, and he will challenge their views or at least get them to explain their thought in more depth. It's not done in a passive aggressive way. The man is very intelligent, and people don't like it when they're not in control (see the Max Clifford episode for example).

iPlayer. They've all finished now though.

The whole series was utterly spellbinding in a totally morose way. Theroux is a master documentary maker. Perfectly constructed and well executed documentaries that let the surreal circumstances speak for themselves and have offered an incredible critique on the LA way of life.

It really makes you feel and see humanity in a totally different way.

Totally agreed, although I certainly was left wondering at the end of the last episode whether the term 'Sex Offende'r does need to be broken down in to sectors. I found myself being sympathetic to some of them, despite the crimes they had committed.
