UP AND DOWN- The Vengaboys (399,000) http://i59.tinypic.com/i4n2pz.jpg YEAR: 1998 PEAK POSITION: 4 Scoring a couple of hits in their native Netherlands the “group” swelled to four members and went international with this track. They were essentially a front for producers Danski and Delmundo, this particular track features a sample of Loletta Holloway’s “Crash Goes Love” and was their lowest selling single from their debut album. 6l5rTBM24U0
April 15, 201411 yr Author 40. WE’RE GOING TO IBIZA- Vengaboys (400,000) http://i60.tinypic.com/2eykfm0.jpg YEAR: 1999 PEAK POSITION: 1 But only just! Here they are back with their second No 1 single, a re-write of Typically Tropical’s 1975 chart topper “Barbados” it was famous at the time for the mispronunciation of “Ibiza” and for a scene at 1.40 which passed by the censors for children’s TV shows! April 15, 201411 yr Author 39. RHYTHM OF THE NIGHT- Corona (408,000) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/ef/Corona_-_Rhythm_of_the_Night_single.png YEAR: 1994 PEAK POSITION: 2 Back in the charts recently due to a Bastille cover the original release of this failed to chart here in late 93 but went on to make it big just about all over Europe during early 94. Thanks to those summer holidays where the UK holiday makers were exposed to it, and a remix by the Rapino Brothers for the UK market, it was released again in September of that year and powered to No 2 behind Whigfield. wrT-bWSZu4w
April 15, 201411 yr "Rhythm Of The Night" = still flawless. Don't really use Bastille's cover. "We're Going To Ibiza" is still so much fun. Prefer "We Like To Party" though.
April 15, 201411 yr Even I can't claim to be a Vengaboys fan, they had some catchy songs that but I wouldn't listen to any of them out of choice apart from their flop ballad final single Forever As One. I hadn't noticed the hype growing around Boom Boom Boom Boom at all and didn't follow midweeks at the time so remember being gobsmacked when that went to #1! We're Going To Ibiza was a given though although I didn't realise it went gold!
April 15, 201411 yr 1999 is going to litter the rest of this chart with all sorts of monstrosities. Edited April 15, 201411 yr by AnthonyT
April 15, 201411 yr Up and Down  Classic :P Can't say I ever really liked We're Going To Ibiza. Corona is a timeless classic  Edited April 15, 201411 yr by gavindeejay
April 15, 201411 yr lol @ the Vengaboys, all their songs just merge into one long cheesefest, but they don't half know how to make something catchy  Rhythm of the Night = Classic  That Bastille cover just...doesn't work for me.
April 16, 201411 yr "Rhythm of the Night" is one of the best 90's songs!!! I love it!!! Also remember that Vengaboys were so popular in U.k..But their best song seems to be their most successful too..
April 16, 201411 yr I'm starting to think Corona's Rhythm of the Night might be one of the better songs in the top 40. Here's hoping the big dance hits of 1990 can keep some of the trash at bay! Vengaboys = worthless...and we've got at least two more to come from them... Edited April 16, 201411 yr by richie
April 16, 201411 yr Rhythm Of The Night  Vengaboys provide me with good nostalgic memories of my school disco days.
April 17, 201411 yr Ah, Corona. Flawless. Baby Baby was a tune and a half. I wonder how much that sold.
April 17, 201411 yr 39. 20 years on and still an absolute tune! Bastille can f*** off!
April 17, 201411 yr Author 38. STAY- Sash! Featuring Le Trec (408,000) http://991.com/NewGallery/Sash-Stay-169686.jpg YEAR: 1997 PEAK POSITION: 2 Third consecutive No 2 hit for Sash! this time featuring the vocals of Le Trec and in English. The group were in fact the first act in UK Chart history to open with three No 2 hits this time held off by the biggest selling single ever (Elton John) so perhaps forgivable in this instance. April 17, 201411 yr Author 37. I LIKE TO MOVE IT- Reel 2 Real Ft Mad Stuntman (409,000) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f1/Reel2RealILikeToMoveItCDSingleCover.jpg/220px-Reel2RealILikeToMoveItCDSingleCover.jpg YEAR: 1994 PEAK POSITION: 5 Yo-yoing in and out of the top 10 it was still there 13 weeks after it was released in 1994, very impressive for a song that never went top 4. It’s initial run 9-10-12-12-10-9 was matched by 9-10-30-38-10-9 on the network chart which only used airplay/ sales for the 11-40 region showing the limitations of that method. 6KjSh3KSS5U
April 17, 201411 yr Author 36. ECUADOR- Sash! Featuring Rodriquez (417,000) http://i62.tinypic.com/30cxe2s.jpg YEAR: 1997 PEAK POSITION: 2 Another Sash! track and another 2 hit this time playing second fiddle to the million selling “I’ll Be Missing You”. Rodriquez was back with Sash! in 2000 for “Adelante!” which hit.......No 2 obviously. fPsMR7HvuZM
April 17, 201411 yr 'I Like To Move It' *.* Childhood classic, although I was more familiar with the cover version used in the film Madagascar at the time. The two Sash! tracks there are great too  Shame about them never having a #1.
