admittedly i would like to sort of alter the rules. i find it a little bit offensive to an extent individuals participating in an indie competition who i don't believe have ever posted in this forum. are those individuals just here to participate in the competition. i don't want to be in a position saying who and who cannot enter in the competition (because at the end of the day who am i to say that?) but please don't come into this forum guys with the intention of just seeking glory. this forum is currently doing the worst out of all the main genre forums yet seems to have the most dedicated fanbase. i can't keep things afloat alone. if you guys could all try and put some of the energy you have into entering this comp into posting elsewhere i think that'd be really good for the forum.

If you have time for UP then you probably will be able to find something 'indie' you like as well (and post about it, etc.). :o

 

To be fair, that's always happened. I hosted the first four contests and you always get 2-3 in the first 48 hours. Also, I voted at 9:11pm the day before the deadline (which was after the initial deadline here) and I was still one of the first half to vote, so that's not really a reason to be honest. At least 2/3 of people give plenty of time.

At least it's not BJSC where people can vote MINUTES after threads are opened, i.e. it's mathematically impossible to listen to all the Semifinal songs in their entirety. :(

This is really quite geeky (I'd like to say something that Bre might notice! :D) but it's remarkable that after 16 contests Dandy has managed to avoid all positions containing the numbers 0, 4, 6 and 7.

And 9 also for that matter as I didn't vote last time and got a deduction to 11th. :D

 

 

Congratulations to Lewwww, I liked the track but it didn't quite register as much with me as some of the others - although it was good enough to score from me so pleased overall.

 

Disappointed for Talos really, I found it really quite beautiful and instant so had hoped for a top 10 challenger this time if I'm honest - ah well, it was not to be!

 

0 points ouch. Guess I deserved that for not voting though, had master's thesis deadline 12 hours after the UP deadline, so it got sort of pushed out of my focus.

 

Think this edition of UP might be my cue to leave the competition. The winning song didn't make it through its first play without being removed from my rotation, whereas one of my favourite songs for the last few years ended up getting 2 votes, thanks to Brett-Butler and Popchartfreak though.

I know it'd be the 3rd (kinda) contest of the year already but it's been 3 months since the last one and I have a PERFECT song to enter :(

We're due, really. There's generally been four a year and the first was technically the last of 2013, should definitely start this month.

Although I was sure I had participated in my last UP as the the format and quality of this thing has turned completely different (and worse) from what it used to be, the editions held in the summer holidays tend to be a tad better. I guess people have more time to listen to the songs and who knows.. People might enter something with 'growing potential' rather than boring electro-pop.

 

I think I have a decent song ready and will probably enter eventually..
