I wouldn't be suprised if Notorious and What About Us got their certifications before the album was released.

agreed. they have a few live dates planned in the summer which will help WAU as its a bit of a crowd pleaser for the non-diehard Sats fans

As they are not usually a big album seller and fairly good single seller the Greatest Hits could surprise if handled correctly. I think all the singles need to be on it plus some new songs, obviously a brand new single to launch plus the release of at least a further single. Casual fans of some of their singles could buy this but not a studio album from them. I wouldnt buy a studio album myself from them but do like some of their singles and could be tempted to buy a greatest hits from them. I know the tour should help sales but they should do as much promo as possible. Personally i think the greatest hits will be the last release from them and it would be nice for them to go out on a high. Released on a quiet week of releases and some good promo a number 1 may not be totally out of the question.
GH by the Saturdays could be the younger sister of Girls Aloud 2006's GH. However, they need to be playlisted by R1 and do VERY clever promo. But if they get this one right they might have even more longevity for the future. If not... they are doomed.
I agree it could definitely be a game changer - I think even if the lead single isn't a hit it'll still sell more than LFTW. It just needs to not go under the radar, if people know about it, I think a lot of people who've never bought a Saturdays album will be interested. Like I said before, management sparing the money for a TV advert would be wise.

Looks like The Saturdays are gearing up for that summer banger. The new video will be shot here - http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/blog/win-holi...-village-ibiza/ - And the mountains look like they'll provide a nice backdrop. First choice are probably paying for it and will probably give them more money than the £2 Citroen did.

Excited for Headlines II

Hopefully that "favourite holiday track" they're recording is a B-side to the lead single, rather than an album track.

Also, even then, hopefully it'll be a double B-side a-la Disco Love! with an Original too. One of the girls said they recorded a lot of new songs and were choosing between them. I'm really not that interested in a cover of Happy or Roar to be honest.

I still can't get why they are releasing a GH in a dead season for albums. Surely at least September would suit better? Or indeed they will try to rely on a summer banger, and then release another single in autumn (hopefully)

I think the cover is part of the Greatest Hits itself.

Well that's just a waste of of 1 of 3 precious spaces on the album in my opinion. I could be wrong and it's amazing, but 3 completely original songs make all the difference and give much more of a buying intensive than 2. The album already has 'Just Can't Get Enough' on it that not many people care about... :puke2:

I've thought about this before - I think they're releasing where they are to hopefully get a higher peak, which will look better for the girls and the album, even if sales are low. And if they have a hit single and the album sells OKAY, they'll probably do a re-package nearer to Christmas.

They are basically trying to recreate 'Headlines'.

I'm still waiting for them to announce another TV-show or something.

Hoping for an amazing video!

It'll probably be a Missing You/Higher/What About Us video, but as long as it looks expensive and sells the song I don't mind.

I think the cover is part of the Greatest Hits itself.

The article says it will be released alongside the single.

I love how they are referred to professional holiday takers

Dead at this.

I'm not sure what I want them to do - I think another Ego / Higher would be the best option rather than a Not Giving Up / All Fired Up. I'm guessing that the single will be released in August with the next single being released in October.

This really is similar to Headlines.

They haven't had a ballad since My Heart Takes Over...what if they opt for a ballad for the lead?!
The thing is that The Sats REALLY need another hit ballad. In their six years releasing they've only had two ballad releases (Issues and My Heart Takes Over) and only Issues was an actual hit. Issues is the one they have to sing at festivals/gigs/clubs etc as "the ballad" because it's the only one they can use. They really need another hit ballad and let Issues die, it was released over five years ago and is so boring now. They must be sick to death of singing it.
Perhaps a ballad after a more up beat song to lead? If the lead is released in July/August then a winter ballad would be perfect.
