a ballad would go 12-56-132-out

They need another Ego/Higher

'Issues' is my favourite Sats song. It does not need to die.

I think the problem with MHTO is not only the release time but the fact 3 of the girls son't even sing a solo line on it.

This 'Issues' shade. It's superb.

It's not Issues "shade". I liked Issues at the time and I am glad it was a big hit and sold the album but I'm sick to death of them performing it at every single gig they do. Every single artist needs to perform a ballad live even if it's just a small set and because The Sats have only had one hit ballad they're stuck with Issues. They promoted it during release, sang in on all three tours, sang it at every gig over the years, sang it at the festivals, sang it on the red carpet in America, sang it on The Voice of Ireland last year, sang it on Una's Dream Ticket and it's just so boring now.

They should re-release it with different girls singing different parts ;)

They don't 'need' to perform a ballad at every gig. They do 'Issues' because I'm sure they love it and enjoy performing it. It's also one of their more well known hits so I imagine that's why it stays in.
Issues was a hit 7 years ago, but it wouldn't be if they had released it now. Ballads just don't do as well as upbeat songs. I know there are some exceptions but look at Katy Perry. Thinking of You/Unconditionally didn't do very well at all.

BITCH I was defending 'Issues'!

Well they don't "need" to, I guess but it's fairly common for artists to sing a ballad at a gig just to slow things down and catch their breath a bit.

Ok you can stay ;)

Thoughts on releasing all three recorded songs to make the total number of singles 20?

I'm predicting and hoping the lead single will not be a ballad. Surely they have figured out by now that the public like them better when they're doing upbeat, fun songs (e.g. Higher, What About Us) so I think thats exactly what they're going to do.

Plus all the recent photo shoots have been a return to the bright and vibrant colours they used to wear all the time. I know its a throwback due to it being Greatest Hits, but I assume they're trying to recapture that image and the lead song will follow suit.

... But they don't? Most of their gigs don't even have enough tracks for them to perform half of their singles and they sure as hell never sing Issues unless they have a big capacity of songs they must sing...and even then, it feels more like singing one of their popular hits instead of actually singing "The ballad". (Plus, whenever they sing 'Issues', they usually sing 'Chasing Lights' too, hell I think they actually did 'My Heart Takes Over' too at every recent gig they did 'Issues'...)

I think it's a bit ridiculous as a complaint. They really don't sing it that much. You would actually find more 'Notorious'/'All Fired Up' performances than 'Issues' performances and yet they were both was released like 2-3 years after 'Issues'.

I just want the girls to reach 20 singles (3 more) as for a girl band, it is an achievement

They have 17 singles, add the lead single it makes 18. If they actually promote the Greatest Hits further, they might release another single, so 19. And if in the end, the label isn't happy with how the Greatest Hits has done, I can see them releasing a new studio track as a goodbye single and well, that makes 20.

If they are happy, then I reckon they will keep going and well the 20 singles mark will be easily achievable.

Pretty sure there was an article mentioned that they were going for a fifth album? Dependent on the success of this era, of course.
I think if the album is out in August then there will just be one Summery single (Missing You/All Fired Up) released the week before the album and then a ballad type song (Issues/My Heart Takes Over) with the attitude and catchiness of something like Ego released in October/November time after the tour so they have time to film a video and promote the album again closer to Christmas. I don't know why but I see this era being something like Headlines and less like Living For The Weekend. I think there's more chance of the second single (if it happens) being a ballad or something slower in oppose to a dance track considering how "Not Giving Up" perfromed compared to their previous post album singles :)
