LOL only just saw the video!!!

Jesus :/ Definitely seems like a contractual obligation, Parlo are clearly putting nothing into this and I very much doubt Kylie is getting any satisfaction at all from this release. I didn't think they could make the video worse than the song but they rose to the challenge. It's a shame, because a fairly good album is being ruined by an awful campaign :(

The video made me feel on edge. I don't hate the song but the video is so average it hurts.

Well I Was Gonna Cancel was 52nd in Friday's midweeks, so it will be safe top 75 for a week! woo hoo. Alan Carr promo moved it up to 118, 405, 445 on UK ITunes and EP still 128th...

Alan Carr Promo/BBC radio 2 gig has helped KMO... now 72 and 114 on UK ITunes with a lot of EPs/Complitations ahead it is probably around 45 & 60 on artist chart...... its 41 on Amazon.... and CD selling ok on Amazon too. Lets hope HMV sell a few copies today... KMO on Friday was 77th on midweeks..... it won't take many sales to move it up so hopefully it will get top 50 also and over 1k again this week. Maybe even go Silver this week

There really isn't anything worth "woo hoo"ing about this era. I think we should all pretend it never happened.

Are you joking? She must have sold at least another 500,000 units onto her worldwide career total of sales singles and albums already from the Kiss Me Once Era....that's worth it alone. Plus I love the album ....

She also managed to film and release the worst video of her career, a career which started in the 80's which was not known for it's good fashion. That will

forever sully this era.

Fully agree with your comments apart from about the album being good. Parlo don't appear to be investing in Kylie at all with a cheap, amateur, dull and very uninspiring video and poor promotional campaign. She needs to move label and the sooner, the better!

That's less "woo hoo" and more "OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE SHIRTLESS SHAWN ASHMORE IN THE FOLLOWING"

Still have Crystallize to come very soon!!! :)

I wont hold my breath for it being anything other than cheap tbh. At least the song has potential to sound good.

oh the video will be cheap. its a charity single and will probably be just Kylie in her nice dress with mic stand and a band behind her... but the song sounds brilliant from the snippet...... as it will be brand new it should be another top 40 hit for Kylie if not higher when released.... I have a feeling she could be on BGT semi finals with it.....

I doubt it will even be sent to radio or even chart well at all. I also doubt she will bother to promote it, why would she when she has hardly bothered for her album?

course she has promoted the album, just not well.... everything all muddled....

Kylie Minogue has delivered some of the most memorable and innovative videos in the history of popular music but “I Was Gonna Cancel” is not one of them.

"This video is an abstract look at pedestrian life and how we're all just trying to get through and rise above everyday challenges. Although the song talks about a real life event that happened the day I recorded the song with Pharrell, the video has a more conceptual approach and I love how surreal it looks. I found myself almost directing traffic and it made me think about how we're all just trying to negotiate our way through day to day life."

What she meant to say was: "This video is an abstract look at how to make the most pedestrian video possible and rise above everyday challenges such as farting out this piece of shit as part of a contractual obligation. Although the song talks about a real life event that happened the day I recorded the song with Pharrell, the video has no meaning whatsoever because we pulled in a load of random extras off the street to walk about aimlessly for a few minutes to save money. It has a more basic approach and I love how crap it looks. I found myself almost directing myself into oncoming traffic as it would be preferable to putting my name to this mess, it made me think about how we're all just trying to negotatiate our way through this car crash of an era."

OH MY :basil:

"I found myself almost directing myself into oncoming traffic as it would be preferable to putting my name to this mess"

Oh my goodness, this is probably disturbingly accurate!

If nothing else I'm impressed with how the song is doing on iTunes at the moment. It's at least more of a success than 'Put Your Hands Up', which is something.

Not really. PYHU was never sent to radio, didn't have a video or any physical release. Plus it was the 4th single from a reasonably successful album. Not to mention it had no promo at all.

She always delivers with her tours, mind you, she normally delivers with videos too.....
