She really shoulda left when the promotion for X was over. The songs left off the album, the shockingly poor US promo, the fact that she had to fight to get personal

songs like No More Rain to be on the album. Mess.

 

But if she left, who would sign her?

The record company totally messed up with X. Bad single choices, bad track selection for the album tracks. Some of the songs that didn't make the album were not just album worthy, they were worthy of becoming singles. X had potential to be so much greater but was totally let down due to bad decision making.
For me, Kylie seems very lost at the moment. KMO lacks direction and potential singles material. In many ways, it feels like a step back from Aphrodite and more like the follow up to X. Its hard to know what Kylie will do next if the album's fortunes don't improve but I suspect a change of record label might happen. She's had a good run with Parlophone but like a lot of people have commented, the last few releases have been messed up badly in various ways and I feel she's been let down by the record company. Her age is also a factor though - its going to be much harder to keep scoring top 10 hits but a more mature style of music which reflects her true ability and age might help.
To be fair The Voice got in the way..... and not able to self promote or even mention was a complete mess and waste... She would have been better releasing after the show had finished and timed everything better....

Yes, I agree actually. Don't think the voice actually helped her and distracted her from putting in more time and effort to promoting the single and album but even with better promotion I still don't think it would have done great!

Parlophone's strategy was to bank in the The Voice effect without intense promotion. Perhaps that's why they got their marketing budget so wrong that dancers get no pay in IWGC video...

Any news on the tracklist for CD single yet?

 

 

wouldn't be surprised if they don't do any physicals and pull the plug on them..... or just do a limited 500 or something again, which would be a shame.

It was confirmed in the press release they are releasing the single on 7" picture disc and CD formats

Performance on The Logies just got slatted by everyone.......... lip synced....and badly... but she was always going to do that with this album.....

 

anyway at least Warner have made I was gonna cancel 'album only' on iTunes which is good......... means no one will be able to buy until release week

Not sure what good that'll do if it's not got a pre-order a la 'Not Giving Up' by The Saturdays.

The album only thing is really stupid, it didn't help The Saturdays.

well hopefully the album only will allow people to either buy the album and wait for the single to come out... I just somehow want it to go top 40!!!!!!! in UK.....
