April 13, 201411 yr I'm all for differing opinions and that but how ANYONE can think Lion King has nothing going for it, is beyond me. Even a hater would at least appreciate something!? Can we get some reasoning behind some of the scores, Alex? Â Might be harsh but I wouldn't include it as it's clearly not a well thought out or balanced rate. really
April 13, 201411 yr Who cares, at the end of the day it's a rate and now probably going to be less predictable if counted up (?!)
April 13, 201411 yr Who cares, at the end of the day it's a rate and now probably going to be less predictable if counted up (?!) ye but The Lion King got a low score so god forbid it actually be valid
April 13, 201411 yr Author ye but The Lion King got a low score so god forbid it actually be valid I'm sorry, weren't you the guy that voided a low score rate but passed a all 10 rate in the Emeli Sandé rate? I don't think you're one to comment  Right now, it seems like Alex rated most of the popular movies quite low and his favourites very high. I'm all for different opinions and I crack jokes about an opinion if it's not the same as mine, but if it's legit there's not much I can do about it. The fact that you're accusing me and Haus of trying to rig this is quite rude as we both have done quite a lot to make this happen so a little more appreciation would be nice. I'm not saying I am going to void his rate (I may have said this in my previous post), I am curious to see what the reasoning for these 00's are as it doesn't seem legit (Because honestly, why watch the Lion King 2 if you hated the first one so much that you had to give it a 00?) EDIT: Griff, why are you even coming in here telling me to not care, when you didn't even rate yourself? Is that seriously the only reason you came? Edited April 13, 201411 yr by BarbaricSissyTIM
April 13, 201411 yr I'm sorry, weren't you the guy that voided a low score rate but passed a all 10 rate in the Emeli Sandé rate? I don't think you're one to comment well it was a bit difficult to find the original scores considering the post had been edited by a mod, but OK ^_^
April 13, 201411 yr Exactly Tim. This is your rate at the end of day, I can't tell you what to include or not I'm just offering my opinion as a moderator on the forum (which as I asked in the Mod forum, is agreed with by at least 2 other Entertainment Mods). But yes really, that is my opinion Calum. We're working to make this forum more expansive than it has been and holding rates is a good way to do that but not at the expense of quality/well-informed CINEMA discussion. It's not that Lion King got a low score, it's that the rate is so unbalanced that it comes across as sabotage. Will my second rate be accepted if this one is? This is all coming from someone that is passionate about films and reviewing/rating films, but I guess on a site like this you will get blind rates like we see all too often in other forums such as Pop. I don't even care if I'm coming across petty or harsh, I don't want this rate ruined and I care far too much about it to see that happen  But Tim it's up to you as we didn't outline this before the rate was posted.
April 13, 201411 yr It's not as though people have issue with him saying it's bad, it just looks like a clear way of making his favourites higher. It's often seen throughout this board and it's something that annoys me. I often find myself questioning that if something wasn't so popular would it really have scored a '0' or '-1'. Rates are just a bit of fun and obviously the results of them don't actually mean anything in terms of how percieve anything but it spoils the enjoyment when things are marked down just because they are popular. It's why I often don't give out many '0' or '-1' as it is rare that something is truly terrible that I'm not interested in it at all. Even songs that i express hate on here for still have some redeeming features no matter how small. If reasons had been given or a score between 1-5 was given, I probably be willing to accept his preferences but, with him also marking the second film a 0, I really don't believe that he's marking them down for anything other than to let his favourites higher.
April 13, 201411 yr Author I didn't want that to happen! He could've just explained his reasoning? Just to clarify. I have nothing against Alex
April 13, 201411 yr Author Can you please get your negative attitude out of here? It's getting really frustrating now. Squash it, get over it as this is not going anywhere

April 13, 201411 yr To be fair, people rate to put their favourites up the top of the chart and sometimes want to affect the results so that films that are massively popular get taken down a bit. No harm in that imo... There is imo, as it then isn't reflective of your true feelings. Does it truly matter where peoples favourites place? I'd be more interested in seeing the true results. If something is popular, there's no need to mark it down for that factor.
April 14, 201411 yr I would still post your votes as there may be a chance that Tim might accept it as the results haven't started yet!
