While little is known about the follow-up to 2013’sARTPOP, it’s possible the record could feature a collaboration with Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker.

 

On Sunday, Mark Ronson shared an Instagram photo of Gaga in the studio with Parker. Ronson captioned the photo writing only, “Illusion”.

 

In addition to Ronson and Parker, producer Bloodpop (fka Blood Diamonds) also apparently joined Gaga in studio. It’s a dynamic group for sure, as Ronson and Parker previously teamed up on the song“Daffodils”. Bloodpop recently co-produced Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” as well as Grimes’ “Go”.

Mark Ronson says Lady Gaga's new album is "incredible." The musician, who is producing the upcoming record, spoke about the project during Zane Lowe's Apple Music Beats 1 show earlier today and revealed that it's some of his favorite music that he'd ever worked on.

 

"We've been working on this record for a while," Ronson said. "I can't really get into it too much. I'm not trying to be coy, but I feel like it's not my place. When the time's right to tell the story, I feel like she should tell. But it's some of my favorite music I've really ever worked on. It's incredible, I love it."

 

He continued: "It's very rare you're working on something and you go to bed at 3 in the morning and you wake up at 8 and you just cannot wait to get back to the studio to work on that thing you were working on. I can't wait until you can hear it because the music speaks for itself."

 

OMFG.

I hope we get the lead single soon, hopefully in time for the VMA's. Now would be a good time, as I don't see that many other pop females releasing music on the horizon?

Gaga's Little Monsters have been waiting for a new album (one without Tony Bennett, at least) since 2013's Artpop. In January, the singer promised that the project would arrive within the year, and she recently announced "Perfect Illusion," a dancefloor-ready first single that Gaga has called a "sweet, simple, ragey" song about "modern ecstasy."

 

Surprise Pairings

 

On social media, Gaga has hinted at unexpected partnerships; for instance, with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson, who co-produced "Perfect Illusion" with Gaga at Malibu's Shangri-La Studios. Ronson has called the album as a whole "a very honest, authentic, kind of analog record."
