Replaying this album and I forgot how much I actually adore it  Yee ha Ga next era pls (probably won’t happen, but I’d love her to explore country again. Her voice goes OFF on Diamond Heart, Perfect Illusion, Joanne and others on this album)

I still listen to this regularly. The best parts of it are amazing (MR, DH, DIC, Joanne, A-Yo, GG) but there are also some tracks I tend to skip.

It's a good album for Sunday mornings!

Even though she doesn't really talk about it as a big positive era for her, it had big impact as it built her persona to what became A Star Is Born two years later.

I love Joanne.

A massive improvement on ARTPOP and a great album in terms of it continuing to show off her vocals, her versatility and a great starter to what would led on to the ASIB era too in terms of sound.

It’s a great album. I’d agree it’s perfect as a Sunday Morning album or an album you’d put on when you just want to relax / go on a walk or something. I definitely appreciate it. I also imagine there’ll never be another studio album like this again in her career again so that’ll make it all the more special.

I like Joanne, but the fact that this album could have been twice as big as it is if she had released another song as the lead single instead of PI...

I love Perfect Illusion but it wasn’t a great lead single choice.

I’d have had the campaign so something like

1. Diamond Heart

2. Million Reasons (then album release)

3. John Wayne (maybe as like a video only release what we got. Similar to 911)

4. Dancin In Circles (full single push with video)

Million Reasons could’ve even worked as a lead.

Dancin In Circles I still feel would’ve been a commercial smash even if it totally goes against the concept of the album.

From strictly commercial point of view I would've gone with:

A-Yo (replacing PI)

MR

DIC

JW and Joanne how they were dealt

However, as a statement, I think PI is unique and I feel it's like a lead single or nothing, if you know what I mean.

I definitely agree about 'Perfect Illusion' being a baffling lead single choice - it doesn't represent the era AT ALL?

I'd have gone for 'Diamond Heart' as lead <3

The fact that she brought Parker & Mark together on this song and the result was this mess, what a missed opportunity.

I would've gone with:

1. Diamond Heart — August 26th + pre-order of the album + first official performance at VMA on the 28th

2. MR — October

Album drop — November, 3 weeks later

3. A-YO — December

4. Dancin' in Circles — February

Diamond Heart is like Alice, great single in theory but not in practice :P

Delete it f@t :tirren:
