Up to 400 (+37). If it could start gaining around 50 (or more, fingers crossed) plays each day, it could get to around 1000 plays...which is the amount of plays Pixie Lott is getting despite her flopping right now...

Up to 449 (+49). Yasss, now let the next update be like +57 or something. Although, +1500 would be great too, but hey.

(Yes, you also need to add the 112 plays it got before the "?" was added to the title of the track on comparemyradio, but let's not.)

I'm fairly certain the most plays Not Giving Up accumulated in a 30-day period was around 600. This is looking to far exceed that which is positive. It just won't matter much without Capital/Radio 1/Kiss/Juice support.
5 of the top 6 stations playing WAYWF are Scottish stations. It's pretty much being played by the same stations as Pixie Lott and look how that's turned out..

Missing the top 40.

It's doing much worse than Leah Mcfall and look how that performed. It's doing much, much, much, much worse than Naughty Boy who's top 10 on airplay and missing the top 40. Pixie is also missing the top 100. :(

It kinda pisses me off because despite some peaks outside of the top 10, they never seemed THAT bad. I mean #14, #19 and #22 aren't exacly the shittiest positions, especially when 14 of the rest of the singles are all top 10, a lot of them top 5, some top 3, and one is an actual #1.

But wow if this misses the top 40 then it's really going to look awful especially as it's not even a post-album single. I really hope that (somehow) they managed to surprise us and it (somehow) does much better than expected (by that, I don't mean it's going to be a hit, I'm just saying maybe it could manage a actual good peak, just to fall out of the top 50 the next week and sell like 60k max, but it would still be a goot peak) ... But I don't even believe it myself.

But I'll stop talking because I know this is kinda depressing...

It's doing much, much, much, much worse than Naughty Boy who's top 10 on airplay and missing the top 40.

Which goes to show that airplay doesn't guarantee success. You can flop with heavy airplay and you can smash without it. They've never done that stellar on airplay. I think we tend to underestimate the strength of their fanbase. It might be smaller than it used to be, but it is also big enough to give Not Giving Up 20,000 opening week sales with almost no airplay, promo, or hype.

They've never done that stellar on airplay.

Not trying to be rude, but I have to disagree...

They have #1 on airplay (Missing You), one top 5 (Issues (#4)), four top 10s (What About Us (#5), Just Can't Get Enough (#6), Forever Is Over (#6), Higher (#7)) and three top 15s (Up (#11), Ego (#14), All Fired Up (#14)).

These are their actual best sellers, all the songs that sold more than 200k, which tells a lot I think. Also the girls are known for releasing on really busy weeks, against competitors with far much better airplay than them, so being #6 on airplay would definitely be "stellar" for example, especially on these particular weeks.

Their airplay was a mess after the whole OA/OS thing with Notorious which clearly f***ed things up. I think radios were redunctant towards 'All Fired Up' because of that, but obviously, the track being a monster of a song, they decided to play it nonetheless, although not THAT much. I think radios also hated 'My Heart Takes Over' or thought it was neither catchy or strong enough, I don't know, but the snub was quite intense too and that probably didn't help the girls get the radios back on board at all. (Which '30 Days' proved as it didn't manage to get top 15 like most of their previous releases at that time)

And 'What About Us' was shown to be a fluke. It was stuck in the top 25 for two weeks, I think radios were just waiting for the release week to be over so they could sack it from their playlists, but then BAM, the song exploded and radios were kinda forced to play the most popular track at the moment...

But everything after that did struggle to get airplay. 'Gentleman' maybe more or so because it wasn't really the cup of tea of anyone (except me clearly  :P), but even 'Disco Love' which as catchy and huge as it gets, was still mostly ignored by radios (#23 only? da f***).

Anyway, my point is...They were definitely played a lot early in their careers before they started messing up
for real
.

It's also very hypocrite to say that but I kinda wish they hadn't released 'Not Giving Up' now. I still think it's one of their best ever, but I reckon radios might have been more open to play them with a huge break between the last single and the new one (it's a proper comeback that way), but also considering their last single would have went top 5 and not only top 20 and also it would have sold 150k not 50k or whatever Not Giving Up is on at the moment. Anyway, I know that's hypocrite because I was almost begging the girls to release it and was certain they would go for 'Leave A Light On' instead and was so prepared to be pissed, but yeah, I can't help but feel that way... -_-

I don't think this will miss the top 30/40. It peaked at #106 and has done better than Not Giving Up which peaked at #19. Physicals also help with The Saturdays. They get an extra 1k sales from that. We all just need to make sure we do our best to stream the hell out of this.

Don't they have a maximum cap over how many times you can stream a song a day or something?

And I don't think the saturdays ever struggled with airplay until recently. We'd be happy if they recieved the same amount of airplay as 30 days now since at least that is something. I remember that even though WBU went to #5 on airplay it became one of the higher songs in the YTD Airplay chart, just missing out on the top 20 in the end which just shows how well the song was played.

What About Us was top 10 on TV airplay for three consecutive weeks before release though...
What About Us was still top 40 in airplay before release - It was A-listed a whole week before the release on R1. If WAYWF had the same airplay as Disco Love - which at the time we thought was awful, it would be safely going top ten at least.

There are no doubts that if it had the airplay of any of their previous singles bar 'Not Giving Up', it would definitely go top 10 yes...Although, had it gotten their more more more recent airplay (the 25-40ish), it would probably still be a flop in terms of sales...But at least we would be looking at a top 10.
