Professor bloody Green also just went to #68 with the pre-order for his new single. :( And who the hell are rabid fans of him??

I don't understand.

Album at 105.

It's not too bad really. The thing is, 100s maybe thousands of fans would have alreays paid for the 'tour edition', lots would have dished out £30 for the extra special edition - some may only want standard or would have bought the normal physical. Only fans know this is on iTunes and they might not be willing to pay another £12 for an album they already bought. Once their is an advert on iTunes and they get some airplay and promo in the pre-order should rise.

If it was the only version of the album, I'm sure it would have done better.

Professor Green is not a pre-order - the single has actually been released. I think a major problem with the finest selection is that £11.99 is a lot to expect from teenegers etc who don't have a debit card. A lot of Saturday's fans would have pre-ordered the album along with the tour / pre-ordered the album online / purchased a package.

The album also peaked at #48 on Irish iTunes but their iTunes is so inaccurate - 'What About Us' could be #300 one minute and out of the top 1500 in the next update - it's happened a couple of times with 'On Your Radar'.

The single is what anyone would need to worry about. If the single is a hit then the album should follow it's success anyway. Still messy that they're released the same time.

Not at all. 'Disco Love', despite being
nowhere near
a hit, didn't exactly flop either. It sold 52k in first week didn't it? And kept on selling half of it the week after, yet the album still managed a really poor 9k in the first week and we all know how this has ended.

Hopefully this being a collection of all their hits/singles, it will sell more than an album of 2-3 singles and bunch of albumtracks. You're basically getting a Saturdays album with only one filler (Missing You :kink: ) and all goodies... Sadly if no one knows outside their fanbase that it's out then yes it will underperform, realistically.

It does seem like they are aiming for hit album more than a hit single. Releasing the single on the same week as the album is basically saying "Boo, I know you want this song for 0.99£ but look give it 10£ more and you get that song you want
PLUS 30 other tracks
! COME ON, BUY THE ALBUM INSTEAD."

But then if no one knows about the Greatest Hits, then they will just buy the single you know.

This Morning: Welcome - you are here to perform your brand new track 'What Are You Waiting For'

Una: Yeah. Aofieee bell is singing songs , parker is doing amazing and the other one is doing fine.

This morning: Can't believe we've been discussing this for 5 minutes. Here are The Saturdays performing 'What Are You Waiting For' out on iTunes now.

No mention of the album or tour.

aren't they on the Scott Mills show today? hopefully that will involve a WAYWF play which will see it back on the itunes chart

This is true, however, though Disco Love exceeded expectations, I was hoping, with this being a lead single it might ideally sell a bit more than 51k in it's first week. I was hoping for a 60k+ opening. I feel certain that if the album was released off the What About Us, it would have done considerably better. Though of course we all know that even Disco Love's shoddy airplay would be a dream right now after NGU, and if they get the same treatment as that, they'll struggle to make 25k in the opening week.

Ideally they get playlisted on Capital on Thursday, the Radio 1 next Wednesday and it starts getting heavy rotation on TV. Then I think it'll have no problem being a hit. It's not like Marmite songs Gentleman, MHTO or 30 Day. This SHOULD connect with people overall.

102 The Saturdays Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits (Deluxe) - Still not terrible, glad it managed to peak inside the top 100!

260 The Saturdays What Are You Waiting For? - EP - Not doing too badly, but the EP sales don't account for much of the actual sales.

If the R1 play of What Are You Waiting For doesn't at very least get WAYWF back into the top 1,500 of pop, it'll be pretty depressing.

285 The Saturdays What Are You Waiting For? - EP (Loveable Rouges may have peaked at 60, but they're now 403 - just another extremely front-loaded boyband)

It's actually all looking quite positive, the album seems not to be free-falling, the EP is kind of stable and a few of the 'greatest hits' seem to be climbing a bit.

The only thing is, What are you waiting for, 'What Are You Waiting For?' !?

the girls individual Facebook pages have been promoting the GH album today which is good cos I think some of their individual Facebooks/Twitters have more than the band. Frankie has alot of Twitter followers

I'm confused as to why the regular version hasn't been put up on Itunes yet.

As a non-fan I'd probably rather get the regular version tbh

You ARE a fan though Tim! :D Or do you mean hypothetically?

It is odd though, especially since amazon had the standard mp3 and not deluxe...?
