Jazz hands at the ready - Leona Lewis is starring in a new Hollywood musical.

Get ready for the Bleeding Love singer, 28, to break into random song with random people and have bunny rabbits follow her down the street. I'm told: "The musical has an Eighties theme.

"It will be an all-singing and all-dancing spectacle and is currently being filmed in Italy.

'Leona will spend the next two months over there"

The film's producers are "excited" to have Leona on board in her first acting role. She has had lots of offers for musical roles but held out until this part "leapt out at her".

After filming she will be back in the UK to promote a new album, which will be out at Christmas. I'm told, "There are big plans for a comeback single".

Exciting stuff.

Will begin Sept. 13 shooting of the film musical'' English'' Walking on sunshine by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini made partly on the Italian territory. The film produced by the company 'English Wos Film Limited will be' shot in Lecce for 5 weeks, until 21 October.

 

The time frame and location fit in with what Leona has been saying on Twitter about rehearsals so it looks like she's starring in a musical called Walking On Sunshine possibly renamed Holiday and it is apparently also starring Kylie Minogue! :o

Also, a woman who previously tweeted about Leona's album release date (she gave reliable info) said that Leona is singing the theme tune to the movie and that it's going to be a single! Hopefully she's right once again. :D

She recorded a few songs I believe. I think there were a couple songs that were confirmed, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. They are mainly 80s pop covers though. Cannot wait ^_^

Cannot wait! It's this decades "Mamma Mia!" I hope. :D

The movie is going to premiere in Leicester Square June 11th. With a UK release 27th June. :)

There won't be any original songs. I imagine the ones that feature Leona will be album-only as well due to the label switch as they'll still belong to SyCo, correct?

This movie looks dreadful. Every time the trailer finishes the whole cinema erupts with laughter. And, even with auto-tuning and mass production, Leona is clearly the only cast member that can sing.

She really is the only person who can sing! :lol: I hope there's a version with only her singing, because that's awful.
