While Crazy Stupid Love marks newly-wed Cheryl’s ninth Number 1 in total (including four chart toppers with Girls Aloud and her appearance on the 2010 charity cover of R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts for Helping Haiti), the track is the singer’s fourth solo Number 1 placing her alongside Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora as only the third British female in history to claim the feat!

 

Cheryl previously topped the chart with Fight For This Love (2009), Promise This (2010) and Call My Name (2012).

 

An ecstatic Cheryl tells OfficialCharts.com,"It feels great to be back but even more special to have achieved my fourth Number 1. So exciting!"

Fantastic result, no matter what happens now she's matched Geri. Hopefully she can push on and get that 5th #1 though!

Great that she's got the #1, I'd not listened to the song for a few weeks as I've been on holiday but having heard it a couple of times since returning, it's safe to say that I still love it. A much more impressive achievement of four solo #1s given that two of them were in very competitive weeks.

 

Maybe Geri Halliwell should record a song with Tinie Tempah if she wants a fifth UK #1 single.

She is holding quite well on iTunes so far, I'd love her to stay top2 this week !
