Hope you're right. Rude has jumped like 50 places in pre-orders in the past 24 hours! Cheryl is standing very strong though, she must have so many pre-orders under her belt already. It will be so annoying if she doesn't make it to number 1 with her 4th lead single, but I FULLY expect her (hopefully much better) second single to storm straight to number 1 anyway.

Oops at the 02-10 tumble on TV! How strange.

I'm really pleased by how well she's done on pre-orders. I do wonder whether releasing the week before would have been safer though... the competition doesn't look immense, whereas 'Rude' is shaping up to be significant competition.

I am pretty sure the second single will be a much safer choice, something midtempo with a big melody like "Parachute" I guess.

People have been waiting for a "Parachute part.2" for ages and it would be ideal to launch the album.

I think they're going for a "Sexy! No no no / Call the shots" situation to launch the fourth album (and funnily enough "Tangled up" was also the girls' 4th studio album).

I only like the sped up version of Parachute so hopefully the 2nd single won't be Parachute 2.0

It's really picking up momentum on pre-orders. Though, Cheryl has a MUCH bigger lead with her pre-orders so I'm still confident she'll win the official number 1, even if her stay at the iTunes #1 is short lived. Either way, my sadistic side loves a chart battle even if it's with one of my faves.

Damn it, this is really growing on me :( the video helps, I know it sounds stupid but the lyric video with the actual trumpet pictures made them seem much worse, still not keen on those bits at all but it's such a tiny portion of the song!

Parachute mark II for the second single would be perfect

Yeah I can't believe how the song sounded so cheap and almost like a joke when watching the lyric video but now sounds so much better with the official video. Never realised quite how significant visuals can be!

I wish the label would release the song one week earlier… There would be no big competition compared to MAGIC!.

This being said, a #2 would still be AMAZING considering she has a second single before the album that is likely to do well too.

Rude is currently #15 on Radio airplay

24 is decent 2 weeks before release! It's not as good as CMN, but lots of big artists don't even get into the top 40 2 weeks before release!

57. MAGIC! Rude

69. Cheryl Cole Crazy Stupid Love (feat. Tinie Tempah)

MAGIC! has climbed a lot today on pre-orders. I reckon Cheryl's record label should just release this next week now.

Me too! Rude is climbing so fast and is showing no sign of slowing - I really think she'll zoom to number 1 if she releases this week. I really am worrying she'll have to settle for number 2 with sales that would have been an easy number 1 most of the time, if she sticks to schedule.

It's 53 - Rude - 70 CSL love.

Judging by its US success, "Rude" will be the huge global summer hit it was always going to be, and unfortunately there isn't much you can do agaisnt it. MAGIC! will end up as a one-hit wonder while Cheryl will release her 4th album, that's what matters.

Of course a #1 would be the cherry on the cake, but we can't complain about an artist who is coming back with a #2 hit for a 4th album campaign, especially after 3 consecutive #1 lead singles. How many female artists have achieved that in the UK? And there's always the next single to try to get the top spot for this era.

Releasing it next week would make sense though.

Stuck on Radio 1's B-List, I'm gutted. :(

There's a good chance it'll move up next week. No need to worry just yet.

Yes but the thing is MAGIC! has moved to the A-list and that's the one song she needs to beat. :(

Well, she could just release it next week and have an easy #1. Simple stuff really.

Someone needs to tell her label that!
