K, thanks. The boys had made it through weeks seven, eight and nine, and now they had arrived at the grand final. They were performing alongside the three other finalists - Cher Lloyd (who eventually placed fourth, oops), Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle. The first night saw them sing two songs before it was announced which three acts would be going through to the Sunday night final, and which would be eliminated. With Cher gone, the boys then went through to Sunday's show performing a further song. In the end, when the voting was frozen, it was announced that One Direction had finished third behind Rebecca (second) and Matt (eventual winner). But it wasn't over there. Zayn vowed to the British public and the fanbase they had built since the beginning of the live shows that this wasn't the last of One Direction. Never truer words spoken! May 9, 201411 yr Author I always think that in the final it depends on who each of the finalists sings with in terms of how well they'll do. Robbie Williams was just bad luck for 1D I suppose :kink:
