Thanks the video for the Power of Love got me right in the Christmas mood - so many big xmas classics to come in the next month on totp!

And Band Aid must have been recorded just as that episode was shown!

Yeh I thought it was round then - was great seeing the video for Frankie The Power of Love is growing into one of my fav xmas classics now, so emotional - looking forward to the performance next week!
Two December episodes were missed out. Gary Glitter was on one of them. Last Friday's episode was the last week before Christmas so I'm assuming they won't start 1985 until next year.

Maybe they're thinking of just doing it weekly again and slowing things down again.

Mad I couldn't see the 2 episodes with gary Glitter and The Power of Love performance when it was no1!

That's my guess as well.

I think there are fewer Mike Smith and Yewtreed episodes from now on, so that may well be the case. If they stick to Thursdays, then the monthly Sky At Night could help keep things roughly in sync.

I read on twitter after the totp narrator tweet saying it was off until 15/12/17 when they'll show the xmas day episode but that there was a lot more Mike Smith episodes in 1985 which would make sense as both Peter Powell and Kid Jensen did their last shows in Nov 1984 with only Bruno Brooke's replacing them!

Just watching the Christmas episode of top of the pops 1984 - why were there no presenters??
I watched it last night. I don't know why there were no presenters but at least that meant that it got shown. Normally most of the presenters turned up for the Christmas Day show so not many of them have been shown on BBC4. I thought it worked quite well with each act introducing the next one. Interesting that Frankie Goes To Hollywood were allowed to perform Relax this time.

I haven't watched it all but don't think there woulda been presenters if the artists were all introducing the next act. They obv had all the big acts at once to perform Band Aid in the iconic ending. Only seen the Two Tribes performance - looking forward to Relax if they play that in the second half.

Does anyone have a link to the full shows in December we miss with the Gary Glitter and especially the performance off The Power of Love when it was no1, annoyed Mike Smith must have presented these episodes!

Yeh I was checking You Tube but as you say the episodes are all over the show.
I'm not sure if I seen this posted here or on the totps twitter but the 1973 Christmas edition is being shown over the holidays which should be good viewing with Slade at no1!

They're both available in full online and am sure the link were posted on the DS TOTP thread. Will try and find them for you.
