I agree this silence is ridiculous and this is something that unlike many other things simply won't go away. Maybe a press conference would be good but could also draw out the negativity and would be played forever but I just hope all four are using these days worth of silence to do everything to pay back what they owe and quickly show/announce that this has been done.

I'm still a fan of their music as I can take that as a separate entity however it really is greedy they are multi millionaires and that has to show a sign of individual character. Robbie I assume earns the most and at a guess Jason probably the least and neither have gone for this which is at least something and tells you a lot.

It's just confusing why Gary and perhaps the manager would go for this although they all share the royalties 2nd time round so none are in dire straits. I can see potentially why Mark/Howard might as perhaps they lost it all after the first time round. Yes Gary has done a lot for charity but that now unfortunately is being used to show him as a hypocrite which along with his bigger profile is why he's carrying the story and with doing charity why would you not pay tax to give back to the community/public services i.e hospitals which is where a portion goes.

Also bond bug mentioned this is as bad as the Robbie v Gary press but that was a trivial pop duel this is much worse however as potentially indirectly affects people's lives and why it's front page and international as US Billboard have just ran a story on it.

I know this may come across as a bashing but like you guys as a fan considering their success it's just baffling. I want this all over with just as much as you guys but the story broke 5 days ago.

I agree, but it's not bashing. This is the biggest Gary Barlow story story since the reformation of Take That. Is it too much to expect somebody in GB's position to pay their fair share of taxes? He has had a charmed life, largely thanks to the BBC that are paid for by our taxes. The Beeb has done more than any organization to promote him. I have never had a problem with that, but maybe I do now. Some fans may not care about him dodging taxes, others may be concerned that the bad publicity could ruin him or Take That, others may think he should pay his taxes. Whatever view is legitimate and not about bashing him.

He needs to give a news conference and say that he is sorry and announce that he will pay all the tax avoidance back.

You have a very peculiar definition of justice.

If true, it proves he's a bad guy and sanctions have to be taken for the prejudice, it's too easy to say you're sorry and give the noney back once you're caught. Would you forgive a thief in your house if he says he's sorry once he gets caught by the police and let him free?

Strange how negative press attracts posters that do not like to post on positive news like the television documentary, huge surge in album and single sales.

The television documentary was a load of sycophantic rubbish. The BBC should know better than to puff up Barlow's massively over-inflated ego.

As for this story, I am glad to see that he is being made an example of quite frankly and being shown up for the rich and selfish TORY toff that he is.

Nirvana - this may help explain why Jason wasn't involved in this scheme   (although personally I think its because he has a moral compass).

We assume that Robbie being estranged from the group for so long, handled his own tax affairs. And he probably pays his in LA, where he’s resident. We don’t know, we’re not accounticians.

But what about Jason Orange? Is he so honest, kind hearted and socially conscientious that he opted to pay the full amount of tax required of his income?

We’d love to think so. But we have another theory.

We think Jason Orange has been on minimum wage ever since he joined the band. We doubt he even earns enough to be eligible for tax. If it weren’t for the backstage rider he’d be raiding the skip out the back of M&S for out-of-date sandwiches.

“Gary… How come you live in such a big house and I’m still sharing a dorm with scary Michael at the YMCA?”

“It’s me mum’s house, Jason. I’ve told you that. And take your shoes off before you come in the sitting room.”

No one’s angry at the other two, of course. Howard was probably bullied into it. Barlow probably told him he couldn’t be trusted with money and that he’d look after it for him. And everyone loves Mark, no matter what he does. Even when he kept getting drunk and having sex on all those ladies that weren’t his girlfriend, we still loved little Marky. Aw, little Marky. Trying to cheat the nation out of millions of tax revenue. Aw, little Marky.

That's very unlikely, that Jason Orange is not making enough to pay taxes. Not everyone is going to have their money 'invested' offshore. It might well be that Jason was cautious enough or had the advice to keep his money in his own control.

It was a spoof article Bond Bug! Of course Jason isn't on minimum wage!  He may as well have been the first time around as Gary took all the royalties - but not this time!

I agree, but he should hold a press conference with the other two Take Thaters involved and say that he's not good with money. He took advice. He thought he would be helping new artists. Developing new artists is something that has always been important through his career. He's not an accountant. He never intended to cheat taxes. He believes that people should pay taxes. He is very sorry for what has happened. He will be ensuring that his taxes are payed. The band will also be donating all proceeds from their new single in the Autumn to charity.

LOL.

And you know all of that cause you ARE Gary Barlow, right?

Justice will find out the truth, not you.

I've always had the feeling he wasn't a good guy anyway.

Its the eyes isn't it? They're too close together!

Nope, the day he did that : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Eruqh0dEEw

We got to see the real him and I understood he was one of the most vile and unrespectful men on TV, behind the fake smile and attitude. And I'm not even a Tulisa fan, but as full of himself as he is, he still doesn't have the right to humiliate a woman on national television in front of millions of people.

Oh, and there was me thinking X Factor was an ITV programme.

I don't think they were talking about the X-Factor. They meant the BBC New Year concert (as well as the Radio Day they devoted to him) and possibly the Corden thing (which I had the pleasure of not watching).

Thank you Kath. I appreciate your good sense. And not to mention BBC radio play.

I was proposing the ideal PR approach.

I'm well aware of that but my point was that ITV have also given him plenty of publicity.

I couldnt give a damn, the tax thing doesnt effect me in anyway but i what does affect me is listening to some great music by him.

This is not the ideal approach if none of this is true. Worst thing he could do now he's telling more lies again because they will find out at some point and it would cause him even more trouble.

So all he can do is keep quiet and wait for the Court.

Completely agree!

Whether he has done right or wrong will come out, whichever the result I hope he continues to make good music. I am amazed how the news has brought some extra posters to the forum which I can only assume they are not fans or otherwise they could have been posting on some of the wonderful achievements he has achieved in the last few months.

I don't visit this forum much because Gary's music isn't my cup of tea so I don't feel the need to come and comment about how much I dislike it. But these news are revolting and therefore I'm posting here now.
