Yeah, it's not actually a big achievement when you think about it.

It is a big achievement, how many African songs have been this high on iTunes or in the midweek official chart?

Indeed, it is already up to #129! :o

It's looking like we are going to get a lot of 1-week #1s in the next month or so. The following all look like they have a very good chance of #1 based on pre-orders so far:

25th May: Secondcity - I Wanna Feel

1st June: Ed Sheeran - Sing

8th June: Ella Henderson - Ghost

15th June: Gorgon City feat. Laura Welsh - Here For You

22nd June: Oliver Heldens & Becky Hill - Gecko (Overdrive)

29th June: Sia - Chandelier

6th July: Ella Eyre - If I Go or Jess Glynne - Right Here

13th July: Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea - Problem

So many potentially massive hits coming week after week! And if Cheryl does release a single at some point which has been rumoured then that could be yet another #1.

Gary Barlow's world cup song will be number 1 at some point in June when the World Cup starts.

Is Secondcity gonna beat the utter shite that is Kinkanke or whatever it's called to #1? I really hope so.

"Kinkanke" hahahahaha

I predict we are moving towards more trance style music now after house dominating for the past 18 months :)

What makes you think that? We haven't had a trance song become a hit for years  I can see the house/deep house sound continue to dominate for a while, the success of Oliver Heldens on pre-orders is showing us that it's not going away just yet

This Is What It Feels Like and maybe Red Lights as well

There's a new version of 'Waves' at #55 off the Laidback Beats compilation - it's not labelled as the Robin Schulz remix so it's possible that it's the original finally made available on UK iTunes? (I don't understand why it wasn't released alongside the remix to begin with).

Also, the Disciples Remix of 'Losing Sleep' by John Newman that was selling off the 'This Is House' compilation has been made album only, so that'll abruptly end the return of 'Losing Sleep' to the chart. The remix is available from the song's remixes EP but clearly it was just selling because it happened to be on the tracklist of a big new compilation, so I doubt any sales will cross over.

EDIT: Oh, the 'Losing Sleep' EP has been taken down. Looks like he's possibly gonna push the Disciples remix as a single then and hold it back. Yay, this again!

Just listened to it, and you're right, it's the original.

6th July is going to be a bloodbath between Ella Eyre and Jess, both tracks are good, unless one of those tracks gets a later date or drops early.

Sheding blood in the name of music *.*

 73. Oliver Heldens "Gecko"

Hope they push forward the release of this, sooo good!

Jess Glynne vs Ella Eyre should be interesting. Think Jess Glynne would beat her. I prefer Ella's song but I think Jess's will have a wider appeal, plus the fact it will probably sell an awful lot just on her name alone.

 47. Lethal Bizzle - The Drop (feat. Cherri Voncele)

why? :drama:

I think, if the songs were going to sell on name alone, Ella would be the one going to No. 1. Surely she's better known even if she has only had one successful feature/song as she had all the coverage around the Sound of 2014/Critic's Choice. I doubt many people will actually know that Rather Be and My Love share the same vocalist.

pre-order update

Sorry trance was the wrong type but Oliver Heldens new gecko track is a move towards more upbeat style house compared to Storm Queen, Duke & Route 94!

33. Little Mix - Salute

84. James Blunt - Postcards

Can this make the top 100 combined?

Just listened to the original version of Waves and I nearly fell asleep. Thankfully, I've warmed to the remix of it.

YESSS Vamps :D Last Night though? They should do Somebody To You instead. Ah well, more top 40 weeks for Last Night hopefully :D HUGE yes for Ella also

I have a feeling Ghost is going to be a massive airplay hit. I hope she can manage a good followup.

98. Twin Atlantic - Heart and Soul - Pre Order

- Surprised at how well this is doing! It's a pretty decent song actually.
