Having never heard Gorillaz' first album, I say Demon Days ^_^

But a lot of Gorillaz fans seem to think Demon Days is not as good as their first album despite its huge success. Just wondered what you lot think. :D

Demon Days is a good album, but two tracks (Feel Good Inc and DARE) are a in a whole different class to the rest of the album, and those tracks make Demon Days a good album

Demon Days really relies on guest vocals wiith Shaun Ryder etc, where as the first one used guest vocals but didn't use them as much.

The first album was brilliant as it was really a breath of fresh air but because of Feel Good Inc and DARE, Demon Days is the better album in my opinion.

Feel Good Inc and Dare to make Demon Days a great album, without them it wouldn't be up to much imo.

Demon Days, theres some killer tunes on there. The debut was more consistant but a bit samey.

Aren't consistent and samey the same thing?

OK, I bought Gorillaz's first album this week (£3.99 at Virgin :o) and I'm not impressed so far. Perhaps its a grower, but all the songs seem so bland and samey. So my vote still goes to Demon Days.

I guess so but what I meant was that it gets boring after listening to it for a while but I wouldnt say there are any tracks that stand out as being bad.

Didn't it flop big style?

Didn't it flop big style?

no as i think it was supposed to be Japan only with a limited release over here

Well, lets go about this logically.....!

Gorillaz

An excellent debut album! Highlights are 19/2000 and Clint Eastwood and the bonkers Latin-sounding track, Latin Simone!

8/10

G-Sides

Rarities, remixes and B-Sides. I love the rehash of Clint Eastwood and the Soulchild mix of 19/2000. The track Dracula is also a highlight :)

7/10

Demon Days

Well, my 2nd favourite album of last year. A real grower, as I disliked most of the tracks on first listen :o best tracks are Feel Good Inc., Dare and Last Living Souls. A future classic.

9/10

Therefore, I declare Demon Days as my winner!!
