This track was recorded before Trouble was even premiered and it's not a rip off also because of the fact that The Saturdays often sing tracks that are just walls of sound (All Fired Up & Not Giving Up).

 

Anyway, this isn't doing very much on Pre-Orders, Union J entered at #35 and Ariana (who's not had a single Top 40 hit in the UK) went in at #21. It really needs to go Top 50 before dropping.

 

In regards to the song, it's fantastic! Such a fun, happy, upbeat burst of energy which is great for Summer! :wub: Here's hoping it'll be their second number one!

Yeah Union J got to #35, but they're now all the way down to #867... after just a few days. This will hold up far better and generate more sales, for definite. Ariana's getting major money put behind her and her label are pushing for it to be a success. She's not had a top 40 hit in the UK before, but she's ALWAYS managed to get top 30 (? - might actually be top 20) on iTunes, but due to being released at the end of the week, they failed to make the top 40. Her album charted in the UK top 10, despite being a digital-only album at the time of release IIRC, so she has a steady and growing fanbase.

 

The Sats are doing great on pre-orders atm. I think this will stay top 300/400 until the release date anyway. Then it'll pick up more pre-orders when Radio 1 and Capital get behind it (I believe Radio 1 will support this, for sure).

I really don't understand the comparisons to Trouble, apart from the little chanty bits it sounds nothing like it. And as much as I love Neon Jungle, this is 100x better.

I agree. It's bonkers. It's high octane, the chorus does actually have a melody and the track in general is their strongest offering since AFU/NOTORIOUS!

 

Supply a good video and this could be the biggest track of their career. I actually do believe what i just said btw!

 

Also really good reviews of it so far.

From what I understand the song was initially submitted for 'On Your Radar' so it predates 'Trouble' anyway. Definitely sounds like it could be a Martin Solveig produced Icona Pop track though, so I obviously love it.

 

The only concern I had about a Xenomania single was that they'd be given something like 'Something New', which the gays/the fans/this forum would love, but wouldn't really connect with a more casual audience. As it stands though I think this has the potential to be huge.

Definitely hearing the Trouble vibes, not a bad thing though. I like it on first listen although its rather repetitive but its definitely a banger, really like it!
