Put it on on your tube and shazam it too. It all counts. not Giving Up managed to go to 95 on the shazam charts despite no airplay.

It's also a good idea to tweet R1 and Scott Mills saying you like the song when it plays later. They take reactions into consideration.

Unsure if this has been posted yet but there is a behind the scenes video if anyone is interested:

The Saturdays

2 mins ·

We're on BBC Radio 1 today with Scott Mills on Radio 1 to play 'What Are You Waiting For?' and chat all things tour and greatest hits! Tune in from 1pm!

:cheer: :cheer:

Scott Mills twitter: On today's show something BRILLIANT with @TheSaturdays
Imagine the joy we'd all feel if R1 playlisted them today - a week earlier than they usually do, like they did with Charli XCX

that would be amazing!!

that would be amazing!!

It will never happen though. If it got the same amount of radio support as What about Us, we'd be looking at a chart takeover, as they'd almost certainly get a number 1 album and single in the same week.

what time do R1 announce playlist?

5ish, but we're looking at next Wednesday if there is even a possibility of it happening. Oh the stress of being a Saturdays fan. :D

Edit - This is the perfect plug for the album! They are actually naming all the singles.

perfect time to play the song as loads of people will be on a break at work so listening to radio (hopefully)
Rather Be, All Of Me, Loyal, Fancy and Waves need to go and let new songs on. I love Capital and it's always nice to hear your favourite songs on the radio but God, a bit of variety and some new music would be much appreciated at this point. Double Ed Sheeran and Duke Dumont?

God this better not be another Not Giving Up situation...

Capital had playlisted WAU and Disco Love at this point. Urgh.

It's early days yet, but I would be prepared for another top 20 peak
I still think the album will still sell a decent amount because it's a greatest hits, but where do they go from there if their songs aren't being played on the radio anymore?

I'd probably say another reality show or go to Europe/America to promote and re-ignite interest in them here. Their airplay situation was horrible after My Heart Takes Over/30 Days but thanks to Chasing The Saturdays and the America hype What About Us went to #1 and made them a big deal again and every radio was hammering them. Gentleman killed it and Disco Love struggled, and Not Giving Up got completely snubbed. However there's a difference between the 5th single from a flop album being snubbed and a lead single from a Greatest Hits being snubbed. This is an important release and it should already be getting hammered and put on playlists and slaying on pre-orders but it's like Pixie Lott, too. Radio just don't touch them. If the song sells under 100K and then the album goes in at like #14 and dissapears, they should get on with the tour, take a little break until after Christmas and then in 2015 either start going for international success (with a fresh image) or get another reality show and see if that helps their popularity here.

I do not think this single is going to go top 10.

I think it's too early to tell.

The Capital playlisting has not fully updated and i'm sure Capital and Radio 1 could both still playlist them. I wouldn't mind them attempting to break into Germany / France before returning with new material. The EP has held up rather well and i'm sure that's costing the single version of 'What Are You Watiing For'.

It's not fully impacted television yet as you can't request it on Starz television etc and it was not included in the top 10 fresh hits on Smash Hits & The Box.

I think if it's not top 1500 by next Wednesay and the EP is not top 500 then it will be okay to start worrying but I can't help that think after their interview with radio 1 it could help their chances of being playlisted. The song has a full month before release.

If 'What Are You Waiting For' misses the top 10 then maybe it would be best for The Saturdays' to do one final single and call it a day.
