Posted May 27, 201411 yr So I'm sure some people will have caught wind now of what Zayn and Louis got up to in the back of their SUV with some of their crew upon leaving one of their tour dates... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/05/26/article-2637722-1E3884C100000578-742_634x401.jpg Video has emerged today showing members of boy band One Direction laughing and joking about marijuana as they apparently share a roll-up 'joint' during the Latin America leg of their 2014 Stadium Tour. In the footage seen by MailOnline, band member Louis Tomlinson, 22, narrates from behind the camera, laughingly announcing, ‘So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!’ ‘What do you think about that kind of content?’ he asks bandmate Zayn Malik, 21, who is alongside him in the SUV ferrying them to Peru’s Estadio Nacional in Lima where One Direction performed to a 40,000 capacity crowd on April 27 as part of their 'Where We Are' tour. ‘Very controversial,’ Zayn responds. The video is likely to shock the parents of their many millions of young fans. It could also damage the plans of Simon Cowell to build on their huge American success and grow the band to superstar status - with the two members caught on film now facing the possibility of being barred from entering the U.S., where they are due to tour over the summer. During the 15-minute journey Louis and Zayn joke with each other and the three members of their team travelling with them. Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan, all 20, are not in the car but presumably elsewhere in the band’s convoy making its way through the streets. Louis starts filming while the team prepare to leave. Overhearing discussions between what appears to be a member of the band’s security and the driver he says with delight, ‘It’s about the joint. What a great thing to capture in a different language. They were just asking if it’s okay.’ A member of the team asks about the filming: ‘Are we allowed to talk contraband in this?’ Louis replies: 'Yes, that's what it is about.' Driving into the sunlight from an underground parking lot, Louis says, ‘I want to light up,’ and a member of the team hands him a lighter and the flicker of a roll up being lit is caught on camera. The sight of a police officer on a motorbike escorting them, is met with great excitement. Louis notes: ‘That’s the police. That’s the po po. One-nil.’ He coughs and a cloud of smoke, floats across the camera lens and Louis yells, ‘Smokescreen baby!’ Later in the video, Louis pans to a police motorcyclist just yards away. Louis giggles, ‘One nil b***h! Look at this b***h! He’s having a look. He’s thinking, “I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.” And he’s hit the nail on the head.’ Louis adopts a faux serious tone as he focuses on Zayn who sits beside him wearing jeans and a Bob Marley T-shirt, ‘Zayn takes his job very seriously. He makes sure he goes through a two hour intense warm-up before every show. Just to get himself in the zone for the show. ‘One very very important factor of Zayn’s warm up of course if Mary J herself. In fact I will present it to him now for some fantastic singing.’ At this Zayn smilingly accepts what appears to be the lit joint and takes a drag. ‘How is it Zayn?’ Louis asks. Pausing a beat before he exhales Zayn replies, ‘Nice.’ After a half-hearted attempt to film ‘a bit of the culture’ with footage of the street beyond the SUV, Louis pans back to Zayn allowing the focus to drop to the smoking ‘joint’ in his hand and asks, ‘How’s that kind of culture?’ Zayn replies, ‘It’s great. It’s going to be even greater culture when we get to Jamaica.’ At times members of the band’s team can be heard talking about ‘chicken.’ At the beginning of the journey Louis asks ‘are we all right for chicken?’ It isn’t clear what is meant by ‘chicken’ as the guys joke and laugh in increasingly high spirits. On the first occasion that chicken is mentioned one of the band’s support team can be heard saying ‘we got a full chicken’ just as the crew member seated in the front passenger seat passes something back and across to his colleague seated in front of Louis in the six-seater SUV. Later, a member of the team can be heard saying ‘I’ve got an update. We got chicken in Chile.’ Zayn and Louis chime in with much hilarity, ‘We got Chile Chicken. Chile Chicken baby!’ Moments from the stadium, with the sound of excited crowds’ screaming in the background talk in the vehicle turns to band merchandise. Zayn describes One Direction’s last book as ‘so girly and not cool.’ As Louis is passed the tail end of the roll up, he exclaims ‘Ooo stubbsy!’ and brings it close to the camera. The pair discuss wanting a book that reflects ‘what we’re up to now…Full of sick pictures…sick s*** instead of boring c***’ that both are ‘sure the fans are tired of reading.’ Zayn talks admiringly about the Kid Rock book he has recently seen in which the star is pictured ‘Smoking a J and sticking up his middle finger'. Earlier in a moment of clarity amid the fug of smoke, Louis pondered, ‘I’m just wondering now, we’re sitting here in Peru. Will this come back to me? Who knows? Maybe. Maybe not.’ With the emergence of the film he may not have to wait very long for his answer. The band has just returned from South America and is due to play the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, UK, this evening, before touring the UK and Europe. They are then scheduled to head back over the Atlantic to Canada and North America in August, although with allegations of illegal drug taking, they could be banned from entering. According to Peruvian law, possession of marijuana is not punishable if used for personal and immediate consumption in quantities not exceeding eight grams. -x- I don't know what everyone else makes of it and what implications this may or may not have on their career, but I'm honestly so disappointed in the both of them. :( Louis is just giving me another reason to hate him, and the way he talks during all of the video just pisses me off so much. He's not even relevant to life. But Zayn... At least he's speaking his mind I suppose? (even if it is under the influence?) I genuinely do think that they've all grown out of One Direction and that they don't perceive themselves as the band that they used to be. They've all grown up now, they want to have the power to do their own thing, but they're constantly being grounded by their extremely young fanbase and are having to keep their thoughts to themselves in fear of causing some massive eruption. Zayn's getting married, he and Perrie will likely have their own child soon, he's got millions, I can see him being supported by Naughty Boy if he wanted to make a rap album, so it's not as if he hasn't got any opportunities if he were to part ways from the band. Christ knows what Louis wants to do. I think the only one who's interested in the band as much as they were back in 2010 is Liam... This certainly shouldn't have any major implications on their career considering what the likes of Miley and Justin have been getting up to in regards to drugs - they're still being allowed to make music. What do you all think? Are they getting tired of One Direction? Are they ready to give it up? Why is Louis Tomlinson such a dick? I definitely think this story goes way beyond them just smoking a joint - what they've said allows a lot more branches to grow and things to come from this. Ugh, Zayn. :( http://www.teen.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/midnight-red-disses-one-direction.gif
May 27, 201411 yr I thought they'd renewed their contract until 2016? EDIT: Just reread it, if Zayn or any of them go solo I actually will be really irritated because I'm sure they got put together because none would make it solo. Edited May 27, 201411 yr by seantobewild
May 27, 201411 yr Author I thought they'd renewed their contract until 2016? EDIT: Just reread it, if Zayn or any of them go solo I actually will be really irritated because I'm sure they got put together because none would make it solo. I'd like to hope things can remain that way considering that Emeli/Naughty Boy/Zayn collaboration is going to be an eargasm :kink: but it does make you wonder if it's really what they want to be doing now? I'd like to hear what Simon's inevitably got to say about it a few days down the line.

I'd like to hear what Simon's inevitably got to say about it a few days down the line. I personally don't rate them but that's just me but if one deviates from the group, the others will follow most likely. Such a sticky wicket to be on I guess!
May 28, 201411 yr JESUS IT'S A SPLIFF I'm not being funny, but if anyone doesn't think all of them haven't dabbed in drugs (mainly the old Mary J, but with these two I could probably imagine something a little stronger) is just being naive. In the film, it shows Zayn and he says he likes drawing (their 3D worldwide cinema release). I bet you he is high as a kite when he's drawing those pictures. They're young adults at the end of the day. I don't know many people that have never smoked a joint before. I do know that US customs laws are very strict, but I'm not sure what implications this will have. I'd be surprised if their visa applications get withdrawn/rejected, it's a massive who-hah over nothing. Just because the brand connects them as clean cut and perfect, behind the mask is always an entirely different story.
May 28, 201411 yr Of course they're getting tired of the group. That's been fairly obvious since Best Song Ever, I think they are just in the band now for the money.
May 28, 201411 yr I think anyone would be tired of the group at this point. Their fanbase is way too big for anyone to cope with and it's not healthy. I'm sure if they had a normal sized fanbase, they'd be fine.

I'm sure if they had a normal sized fanbase, they'd be fine. Agreed. But at the same time they have many young fans and is this the image their label is going to be happy with? Probably not.
May 28, 201411 yr I wonder if Simon Cowell is stressed out about this or having the mindset that all publicity is good.
May 28, 201411 yr Agreed. But at the same time they have many young fans and is this the image their label is going to be happy with? Probably not. And at the same time, they're adults and can do whatever they want within reason. Edited May 28, 201411 yr by THE GRIFF
May 28, 201411 yr Is anybody really surprised at them taking drugs? I'm not, what I'm surprised with is that they were stupid enough to film it. And what pisses me off about it is that they were smoking it on the WAY to perform at a gig that however many thousands of people had PAID to see. Unprofessional and idiotic.
May 28, 201411 yr Is anybody really surprised at them taking drugs? Exactly. Out of them all, those two were the most likely for me.
May 28, 201411 yr Tbf they slag the book off (which I've no read) but they've released a book every year. It's all about cashing in on the brand. They crave more creative freedom but although they're getting more of it, in some aspects they're not allowed much. I expect their management will be pissed, but not that they've done the old Mary J, cos I would be sure that they're pretty aware of what goes on on tour, and plus their groupies are the ways handing out the spliffs. More that they've filmed it, and somehow it has got in to the possession of the media.
May 28, 201411 yr Author Is anybody really surprised at them taking drugs? I'm not, what I'm surprised with is that they were stupid enough to film it. Exact same here. Ugh, and Louis' whole talk during the video as well. He honestly annoys me so much.
May 28, 201411 yr And at the same time, they're adults and can do whatever they want within reason. Oh agreed but them broadcasting it isn't within reason.
May 28, 201411 yr Honestly, who cares? They are adults at the end of the day, if they want to have a joint then so what? This is the kind of nonsense I hate.
May 28, 201411 yr Very much split on this. On one hand, they should be allowed to do as they wish, it's their lives after all. But then, they shouldn't have filmed it, so they're absolutely stupid for doing so. It's the fault of both of them really, they know what impact this kind of thing would have. Can't say I'm shocked that, out of all 5, it's these two involved. Definitely cannot blame either one of them individually though, both as bad as each other. Oh well, life goes on. A bigger fuss will be made of this than what really needs to happen but oh well.
