I love this track, top 10 would be great. Glad it's getting R1 support.

I don't think Bump & Grind 2014 is heading for top 10 officially. It's not the best of the recent house songs to be honest

At least we get to hear Push the Feeling On in the chart show again :D

This, just a shame it's not with it's original vocal. :(

TOTD 16/09 - Lower Than Atlantis 'Emily'

Heard this on the Rock Show Sunday evening just after the chart and it's quite a catchy little song. :)

Yeah, I haven't been much of a fan of them in the past but you're right, this one's quite catchy :)
I loved Here we Go after radio 1 A listed it and this one sounds like another Twin Atlanticesque move to the centre ground to try and get more of a broad fanbase - its quite good. They are holding it back this time to so they must want a top 40 hit!

Not a fan of this, it just sounds so samey to all the other rock/indie groups Radio 1 support!

Give me Royal Blood anyday of the week

Off topic but radio 1 are really going hard with rock these days what with the Rock Show with Mike Davis being on after the official No1 now on a Sunday night - but of a risk surely lol

You mean Daniel P Carter? :P

I do find it a bit odd to put a genre show straight after the T40 - nothing to do with which specific genre it is, I think the same applied when it was Dance Anthems.

Back on topic: 'Bump & Grind 2014' does sound a bit like 'Push The Feeling On' - but only the famous remix of it so if anyone should be peed off it's MK, not the Nightcrawlers.

I'm not sure why they have the rock show straight after the chart show. They cater to completely different audiences so a lot of people who casually listen to R1 to hear commercial pop will switch right off after 7PM whereas with Dan & Phil's show they would've stayed on.

I would've put the rock show at 9 to 11 myself as it's niche

whereas with Dan & Phil's show they would've stayed on.

Also, by cancelling their show they also disappointed a collective fanbase (me included!) Still distraught that such a show with such a small target audience would go on after the chart show, which takes in an entirely different demographic.

Perhaps they're hoping chart fans will leave their radio on and be surprisingly interested in the first couple of songs played? I get the doubts about it though, it is a big risk.

I think the idea behind it is that they want to cater to pop, rock and indie fans on the same day with the daytime shows (including the chart) followed by the rock show which is then followed by Annie Mac (who seems to be playing mostly indie on Sunday night (she does dance on Friday))

As I said, I don't think it's specifically the fact that it's rock show so much as the fact that it's a genre-specific one that's the issue, so people who don't think they like that particular genre are likely to head straight for the off-switch at 6:59. I used to do that with Dance Anthems back in the day, and the same would apply if they put a hip-hop show there.

Mind you, I always used to switch off Dan & Phil as well, because they were obviously aimed at a demographic I wasn't part of (and because they were so annoying on the album chart). Nowadays I'm always switching over to Forgotten 80s at that time anyway so it doesn't affect me what R1 put on.

I think the idea is to have all the Dance shows on Friday, 1Xtra Urban shows on Saturday nights and Rock shows on Sunday nights, so to have a genre a night so to speak.

I think they might just want to commercialise the genre - that's why we've seen Lower than Atlantis, You me @ 6, Mallory Knox & others in the Alist in the last yr!
