September 11, 200618 yr album sales and awards etc speak for themslves where kelly clarkson is conerned!were see yeh Yes she had the best selling album of 2005, doesn't mean she's good. A lot of the thing with Kelly is tied into the medias promotion of her. She only wrote 1 of the singles she released after-all ;)
September 11, 200618 yr album sales and awards etc speak for themslves where kelly clarkson is conerned!were see yeh Alanis Morissette sold something like 20-odd million copies of "Jagged Little Pill", she's come nowhere NEAR following that one up.... And she's someone that I would rate far above Kelly Clarkson in terms of actual talent......
September 11, 200618 yr Well, whatever, not matter how many people in this post think Dido is boring, the millions of people who bought her albums don´t think so... Whatever she is boring or not, she is herself, and not who she needs to be to sell more records. Others like Kelly, Christina, Justin and Co. are just singers that are hired to put their voices into a pre-recorded track manufeactured by some mega hitmaker producer. Justin and Christina write their own material ;) That why indie bands are c**p - too much yelling, drug addiction, controversial quotes, magazine covers, but not much MUSIC. How stereotypical of you  At least they all have the talent to be able to play instruments and write songs and that MUSIC that they make is the reason why they're doing so well right now. :cheer: Try judging music by LISTENING to it rather than what you read about them ;) You'll find the ones addicted to drugs are the ones who AREN'T doing so well right now anyway.. but have you seen the likes of Arctic Monkeys or Kaiser Chiefs do ANY of the things you mentioned above? no ^_^ the ONLY reason they're doing so well is because of their music :cheer: I was sent two demos about a year and a half ago by Arctic Monkeys and liked it and found more, I saw Kaiser Chiefs support the Ordinary Boys a couple of years ago and like them and bought their single the next week and then both of those acts go on to do EXTREMELY well because of how good their SONGS are. :D I'm not a big fan of Dido but I see why she sells so much as her stuff does appeal to older people MOSTLY (my dad for example) -_-
September 13, 200618 yr Most Hip Hop, Rap & R&B It's so boring with no music or singing. Rap is just talking, R&B are just chanting on about 5 notes. Hip Hop is just too much attitude. Worst are Beyonce, Eminem, P. Diddy, Justin Timberlake, Usher & 50 Cent. I have to single out Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys who at least can sing. Also overrated most boybands especially Westlife & McFly. They are completely talentless. Edited September 19, 200618 yr by Euro Music
September 13, 200618 yr It's so boring with no music or singing. Haha, wrong. Rap is just talking, R&B are just chanting on about 5 notes. Haha, once again, wrong. Hip Hop is just too much attitude. Hmm, well if you only base your hip-hop opinion on acts like 50 Cent or Eminem then yes, you're right. But once again, WRONG. Worst are Beyonce, Eminem, P. Diddy, Justin Timberlake, Usher & 50 Cent. Ahh, this is a commercial thing. WRONG. I have to single out Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys who at least can sing. Correct. In fact, the only correct thing you have said in this statement. REALLY, do you only base your opinions on this style of music in what is in the UK top 40? It would be REALLY great if you could download some NON-commercial watered down c**p like 50 Cent to really base your opinions of rap music on. But sadly, you're ineptitute comes around again, and you look like the fool once more. Well done, mate. :) You should really look towards the underground, non-commercial scenes in both the US and EUROPE and non-european/american countries. This is usually where you'll find the best artists. Edited September 13, 200618 yr by rhythm bandit
September 13, 200618 yr I def thinnk Kelly Clarkson is overrated. Good songs but in general I dont think she that great

I see where your coming from mate, I get irritated when people think Goth is all about Evanescence or Marilyn Manson, or Metal is stuff like Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park, when in fact nowt could be further from the truth.... The Rap music that I was into was stuff like Public Enemy, De La Soul, NWA, Gang Starr, Wu Tang Clan, Ice T, Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, Blade, Consolidated, Cypress Hill, etc. I dont really hear anything of that calibre anymore to be honest, please point me in the right direction if I am wrong....
September 13, 200618 yr Some of my favourite rap artists of the moment are Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, the stuff that never does well but is always overshadowed by 50 cent
September 13, 200618 yr Lupe Fiasco is EXCELLENT. he does something ORIGIONAL for a change in the world of generic/$h!t RnB/Hip-Hop.
September 13, 200618 yr Alanis Morissette sold something like 20-odd million copies of "Jagged Little Pill", she's come nowhere NEAR following that one up.... And she's someone that I would rate far above Kelly Clarkson in terms of actual talent...... I totally agree! 30 Million actually! she is way underated, except for that album
September 14, 200618 yr I totally agree! 30 Million actually! she is way underated, except for that album then again that album might have been a fluke and the rest all c**p?
September 14, 200618 yr Arctic Monkeys are the prime candidates for this year. I agree, although I do like their music myself. Also Keane, Franz Ferdinand, 50 cent, Lily Allen and Pussycat Dolls Edited September 14, 200618 yr by Starlight
September 16, 200618 yr James Blunt Shakira The Arctic Monkeys DJ Tiesto Gorillaz Justin Timberlake James Morrison Rihanna Kelis Kooks Orson Sandi Thom Robbie Williams (single most overrated artist ever) Westlife Corinne Bailey Rae Beyonce Jack Johnson Red Hot Chili Peppers Shayne Ward Pussycat Dolls Katie Melua Sugababes Eminem Usher Girls Aloud Madonna U2 Green Day Britney Spears Babyshambles Snoop Dogg LL Cool J Jeniffer Lopez Pharrell to name a few
September 16, 200618 yr James Blunt Gorillaz (slightly) Kooks :arrr: Orson Beyonce Jack Johnson Red Hot Chili Peppers Katie Melua Eminem Usher U2 Britney Spears Snoop Dogg I agree with those out of your long list. I didn't include J-Ho, Pharrell, Westlife and Shayne Ward etc in your list as whilst I may not like them, I don't exactly see them being praised by many.
September 16, 200618 yr I agree with those out of your long list. I didn't include J-Ho, Pharrell, Westlife and Shayne Ward etc in your list as whilst I may not like them, I don't exactly see them being praised by many. Pharrell - kinda past it now. BUt a couple of years ago: you worked with the Neptunes and it was the best thing....ever! J-Ho...was that a typo...lol errrrm: J-Lo is overrated because shes an average singer, who doesn't write (much) yet still continues to sell bucketloads (btw that was my first post) Shayne Ward - i suppose is fading into relative obsceurity (sp) so am glad about that now.... Rav
September 16, 200618 yr I agree with most of the ones posted here ... Madonna and Beyonce especially. I like Confessions, and I think she's interesting, but Madonna is nowhere near as revolutionary as people make out and Beyonce's a waste of space IMO
September 17, 200618 yr I definitely agree about Beyonce. Except 'Deja Vu' and 'Ring The Alarm' are the first two songs of her's I've EVER liked.
September 17, 200618 yr James Blunt Shakira The Arctic Monkeys DJ Tiesto Gorillaz Justin Timberlake James Morrison Rihanna Kelis Kooks Orson Sandi Thom Robbie Williams (single most overrated artist ever) Westlife Corinne Bailey Rae Beyonce Jack Johnson Red Hot Chili Peppers Shayne Ward Pussycat Dolls Katie Melua Sugababes Eminem Usher Girls Aloud Madonna U2 Green Day Britney Spears Babyshambles Snoop Dogg LL Cool J Jeniffer Lopez Pharrell to name a few How can you say Sugababes and not say artists such as Christina Aguilera? They write their stuff as much as she or any other co-writer does, and to be fair neither of them, like most, compose the music.... Edited September 17, 200618 yr by blade699
