Manuel Pellegrini will no doubt be under some serious pressure. Manchester City are falling to pieces right now and it's fun watching. It's funny to think that Rooney last month was claiming they would still win the premiership. It's a massive opportunity for Liverpool as if they win their game in hand 4 points is still possible to overcome especially in the forum City are in.

Incredible that Crystal Palace have managed to do so well under Pardew and it's delightful to watch, I wouldn't be surprised to see Pardew win manager of the season because he's made them from a team looking certain to go down to a team that will manage to finish top 10. Benteke has single handly ensured that Villa will survive, if the manages to remain injury free then Villa could finish around 14th which is a good achievement for them.

Chelsea have been really poor since January tbh and It's lucky that we managed to win again today! A win is still a win regardless though.

I'm supporting Hull to survive because of Andy Robertson, Burnley to survive because I love their team. I'm predicting Sunderland, QPR and Hull to go down now :( Hull have got such a good team that I think Steve Bruce needs to take a fair amount of blame.

On paper they have the best squad. However they've hit freefall - losing 4 of the last 6 is bordering relegation form. I thought they would win the League this year, I really did. Ah well, makes it exciting as if Liverpool win tomorrow there's effectively a chance. Yet again Chelsea come to the business end of the season and they just look like poo. If they had a serious challenger for the last 12 games, I don't think they would have won the league. The same happened last year as well.

Sherwood has done what he did with Adebayor - get players around Benteke and he will score. Hoping that's not the case next weekend!

Anyone who spends £50m+ on players and still has Alex Bruce, Paul McShane and Steve Quinn in their Premier League lineup needs to have serious questions asked about their ability, not handed a new contract. Even more undeserved than Lambert's extension was. Steve Bruce is a good manager when he first joins clubs but he's consistently proven he's incapable of turning around poor form. Hull have been dire since Christmas 2013 now and have never really shown any signs of getting out of that form, the FA Cup run really papered over cracks, it's not like it was that impressive a run, one victory over a Premier League side (Sunderland at home, wow!). Their impending relegation will be fully deserved.

Edit: Harper, Chester, McShane, Dawson, Bruce, Quinn, Elmohammody, Huddlestone, Livermore, Aluko, N'Doye

That is an absolutely horrendous lineup, I can't even figure out how you can make a team out of it?!

People keep saying Chelsea have been poor this year but they've won 8 and drawn 3 of 11 games since they lost to Tottenham on NYD. Hardly catchable form is it?

Chelsea have been fortunate enough to have a solid defence to only need to scrape wins this past 4 months. The only really great performance from them was the 5-0 away win at Swansea.

Elated at the result today of course :D really was like the Fergie days & when City were a mid-table team. Really does show the difference under Moyes last year too, after City opened the scoring we would have completely caved in but LVG has brought about a familiar winning mentality. Only 2 of his signings started which says it was never really the players too.

Their form shows they haven't, but the battered teams away in the first few months. Now he's reverted back to old Mourinho hard to beat. Sure it's effective at the moment, but they should be doing far better. They've never really been tested this season at all, save for the December form of Man City.

He's definitely instilled the mentality back. You go a goal down - you can get back in to the game. City go a goal down and it's the complete opposite. It probably helps that you're in really good form. Had to have a chuckle at the 3 added mins on injury time - certainly back to Fergie's time.

Effectively, the gap will be five points as City are well ahead on goal difference.

Its all about results at this stage of the season. Title winning teams are built on a solid defence, and sometimes you just have to grind out a win. You look at Liverpool last season. Great to watch but ultimately their poor defence cost them the title. It's a results business at the of the day.

I really hope not! As has been said, Bielsa would be amazing. Not too keen on Moyes, Billic would be a step into the unknown and Benitez probably wouldn't come.

I think West Ham should be at least 8th and looking to get into the Europa League. The first 11 is good, but the squad has limited depth to it. Allardyce stumbled on a winning formula earlier this season (if Nolan and Carroll weren't injured they'd have played ahead of Sakho). The surrender at Chelsea on Boxing Day set the tone really and lost momentum, compounded with the West Brom cup match and the Palace debacle. Song has lost form, and its hard to see where Allardyce goes from here.

From the outside looking in, it has been a good season. I think the club are ambitious and with the stadium move, wanna step it up a gear. The results since Christmas have not been good enough, and with fan unrest rising, I think a parting would beat for both parties this summer. Allardyce will end up at Sunderland I bet. He has been good for the club in general, but this season has turned into a disappointing anti-climax.

That was my point tho top 10'for west ham is a reasonable performance from allardyce IMO because they are a club which comes up and gets relegated once a decade or so!

Disagree completely mate. Liverpool's defence last season did not cost us the title  We lost the title due to an unfortunate slip, and lots of inexperience against a very experienced team. Attacking football wins everytime. Mourinho's set up not to lose approach is dull as f***. Yeah sure it's good for the fans when it comes off, but when it doesn't people will turn against you very quickly.

Totally true Chelsea have been deserved champions this yr and their form since Xmas has been typical of a championship winning team. 1-0 wins are what happens late in a long season. A 1-0 win in April is the equilivant of a 5-0 win in sept when your showing you have the abilities to win the title.

That's what the club want to change though  Traditionally, mid table is our level, but from 2016 we'll have the 3rd largest stadium in the league, with all the increased revenue and profile that'll bring. Now is the time to push on and create a team worthy of that stage.

If we get to a Tottenham-type level, I'd be very happy with that progress. I think the board are hoping for an Arab buy-out and become the next Chelsea/Man City!

Chelsea dug in again today and got a win at a tough venue for them. Playing with a 37 year old up front, they were never gonna produce free-flowing football! Worthy champions this season, but hopefully there's stronger competition next year.

Who'd replace Pellegrini though? Ancelotti is a similar type of manager and personally, I think its the players that need freshening. Yaya You're is not worthy of 250k a week right now.

I doubt Ancelotti would leave Real Madrid for Man City. Although Man City have the money, didn't they?

You conceded 50 goals last season, that's way too many really. Yes, attacking football wins you matches but you still need to have a solid defence.

The rumours are that they would go for Rafa Benitez. I could see them going for him for a year, then assessing the situation then seeing if they can get Guardiola/Klopp/Ancelotti/Simeone.

We conceded a lot of goals, but that's not why we lost the title. We had the second best goal difference. Nobody would have even cared if we had got the point we needed against Chelsea.

You cocked up a 3-0 lead against Crystal Palace. Yeah, your defence definitely wasn't the reason why you lost the title... :P

Very true, but we didn't lose the title that day! Even if we beat Palace we still wouldn't have won the title. The reason we cocked it up is because through naivety we thought we could try and close the goal difference. If the situation happened again we should shut up shop at 3-1, and close the game out. But we still thought we could score more goals.

The title was lost against Chelsea. All we had to do was avoid defeat. It's a myth if anyone thinks the title was lost against Palace  It just makes a better fairytale story.

But a point against Chelsea still wouldn't have been enough (assuming you also drew to Palace).

Of course the whole mentality would have been different & put more pressure on City but that's all ifs & buts. I really thought City had blown it with their home draw to Sunderland mind so it really was anyone's to lose.

Liverpool last season were outscored by City and conceded more than... well, a lot of teams. Easy to say that defensive football lost Chelsea the title but it wasn't at all - they were dominating games but lacked a killer edge and were undone by the odd goal. City pasted teams in the autumn and got the results when it mattered, which is always Mourinho's template when he has the personnel. It's why he always has a good second season.

City have an easier run-in than Liverpool. Pellegrini is probably a dead man walking now, the team just needs the end of the season to come around so those who stay can regroup.
