Massive win for us against Ipswich today, especially with Bournemouth losing to 10-man Norwich as well so we're now joint top on points!

Next up for us is Forest, who lost again today - will Pearce still be in charge next Saturday? I hope so! I have a feeling he'll be gone by Monday though.

It'd be nice to see Derby promoted. I've been to Pride Park before and the Derby fans seemed like good, knowledgeable football people.

Hopefully they'd get more than 11 points this time though

I'd still be surprised if Forest sacked Pearce though - who's gonna go there when Forest are under a transfer embargo!?

Yeah it's a good point about Forest, I really don't know what they should do.

Haha hopefully, I can remember that the day relegation was confirmed was my birthday which wasn't the nicest present but I knew it was coming!

Same happened to me with West Ham in 2011

I'm sure Derby would fare better if they were promoted. Last time they bought loads of average players on high wages (e.g Robbie Savage) and Billy Davies seemed an odious character.

Maybe that's an advantage of a September birthday. Brighton can never be relegated in September

Charlton Athletic has appointed Guy Luzon as their new head coach following the dismissal of Bob Peeters.

Haha! Never realised you were a Brighton fan, I'm shocked what's happened to them so far this season as of course you were in the play-offs against Derby last May, but if I remember right you've picked up some better results in the last few matches so hopefully you can start pulling away from relegation.

I'm thinking Leeds could be heading for relegation now, possibly with Millwall and Blackpool, especially as it is looking like captain Warnock is heading to Derby. I think they are under the transfer embargo as well aren't they so it's not looking good!

At the start of the season, the reports suggested Brighton were playing well but were only drawing or losing. Since Hughton took over, the performances don't seem to have been much cop but the results are better. A few more lucky wins and the number of points might match the performances

You probably don't believe me but before today's Forest match I had said to myself that considering everything that was in Derby's favour (great form, horrible Forest form, Forest manager pressure) that knowing that Forest would end up winning and unfortunately I was proved right. I thought once we'd took the lead that we'd at least avoid defeat, but as soon as Forest finally got going properly in the second half I knew it wasn't going to end well.

I'm just disappointed we lost the opportunity to return to the top, hopefully we can respond quickly in the FA Cup and then in the league.

That's football for you! Sometimes teams in good form come against teams in rubbish form, and the team everybody wrote off wins.

Maybe the fact everyone has been slagging Pearce & Forest off in the media the past couple of days gave the players that extra urge.

Exactly!

Even today before the match there's a headline about Danny Mills saying Pearce is "not a great coach, not a great tactician and not a great motivator" so things like that will only do the team talks for them I guess!

Yesterday Stuart Pearce was sacked as the manager of Nottingham Forest and replaced by Dougie Freeman.

Brentford have confirmed that their manager Mark Warburton will be leaving the club at the end of the season with them currently in 7th place and a possibility of promotion. What do you think about this?

The Cardiff City board are set to boycott tonight's match with Wigan in protest over Malky Mackay and Dave Wheldon still being the manager and owner of Wigan.

Derby falling apart just when they could've started to pull away, why does it always happen! :( I hope Martin and/or Bent get back from injury soon, we just can't seem to score without them.

Long way to go yet.

That's what happens when they come up against quality opposition :D

If Derby don't get promoted now, this'll be the day we look back on. What a shambles, 2 goals let in in injury time after Birmingham failed to have a single shot on target before their 93rd minute penalty. Disaster.

(on the positive side at least we somehow have moved up to 2nd)

I know the Championship is famed for being almightily tight all season but even this season is ridiculous! Never seen so many teams joint top so late into the season with IMO the favourites (Norwich) not even part of the quartet. (Had they not thrown their match against lowly Wigan mid-week they would have been top!)

It's crazy, as soon as a team goes top or has a sniff of going top they go into self-destruct mode and start dropping loads of points!
