So Coldplay reached top ten because of downloads, not because of streaming.

Yup, a combination of a 59p boost and the release of the EP.

After a very steady run i really did not expect Gary Barlow to drop out of the top 100 this week, in fact im shocked.
Ed Sheeran dominating even more this week with most of his new entries from last week reaching new peaks and 3 more of the songs from his album entering (14/16 of the tracks from the deluxe edition have now gone at least top 100) in addition to 'All Of The Stars' entering. All 15 songs concurrently top 100 and 13 of those in the top 75! I wonder if fchd will be able to provide any insight on how close that is to a record. *nudge*

As for tracks from a single album, yes I would imagine it is a record (by a long way) but for a single artist it doesn't come close to the deluge of Michael Jackson material that entered/re-entered after his death.

You could buy the MKTO classic for at least two weeks on Amazon prior to this Sunday's chart. It even made their chart and was still at 73 on Friday.

On the Ed Shearan track, James Masterton was right, it wasn't available to download when he did his podcast for the chart 5 July. It was released the Sunday afterwards which is why it's just charted and not in the same week as the album.

That MKTO release is a bit like Fun We are Young - it was available on Amazon for 9 months before the earlyish Itunes release!

Notes:

[A] +2 as a member of Bad Company

[B] +1 as a member of SoundGirl

[C] +1 as a member of The Collective

[D] Album tracks from 'x' charting due to streaming being included in the charts for the first time

[E] +2 as a member of Flipmode Squad, 1 of which is also included in the 30 above

[F] +5 as a member of D12; +3 as a member of Bad Meets Evil

[G] Album track from newly released album '5 Seconds Of Summer'

[H] +1 as a member of Artists For Haiti

[I] +1 as a member of Young Money

[J] Album track from newly released album 'Trigga'

[K] Charting on streaming points alone

[L] Hillsong Church has charted 4 other albums (2 as Hillsong Live, 1 as Hillsong United and 1 as Hillsong Young & Free)

[M] +8 as a member of Genesis; +1 as a member of GTR

[N] Brian Eno has also had 10 hits as a solo artist, 8 as a member of Roxy Music, 1 as a member of 801 and 1 as a member of Passengers; Karl Hyde has also had 8 hits as a member of Underworld

The entry of James Blunt and Katy Perry into the longest running albums made me think about how similarly they've sold since their joint release week. Katy debuted 12k ahead of James and now she's 18k ahead overall (but 4k behind him this year). However, with further single releases etc. it's likely she'll overtake in the YTD chart and widen the overall gap from now on.

Also,

#57 Ed Sheeran - Nina [26[C]] [D]

An appropriate peak for a song about Nina Nesbitt :kink: (Her last three singles have charted at #40, #61 and #55).

Decade-to-date stats list of the week :magic: Ed Sheeran's 4 new top 100 hits has seen him overtake the tally of hits by David Guetta and Lil Wayne to put him joint 5th with Chris Brown on the list of acts with the most top 100 hits 2010-present. (Would be joint 4th with Chris and Nicki Minaj if Nicki didn't happen to also gain a hit this week). Here are all acts with 16+ hits, out of which Eminem also gained a hit this week. No prizes for guessing the winner.

01 148 Glee Cast

02 35 Justin Bieber

03 34 Rihanna

04 29 Nicki Minaj

05 28 Chris Brown

= 28 Ed Sheeran

07 26 Lil Wayne

08 25 David Guetta

09 24 Drake

= 24 Pitbull

11 23 Beyoncé

= 23 Kanye West

13 22 Eminem

= 22 Example

15 21 Tinie Tempah

16 19 Jay-Z

17 18 Bruno Mars

= 18 Flo Rida

= 18 Lady Gaga

= 18 One Direction

21 17 Coldplay

= 17 Jessie J

23 16 Jason Derulo

= 16 Katy Perry

He's a little lower (joint 6th) on the list counting only top 75 hits as 5 of his hits peaked between 76 and 100.

01 100 Glee Cast

02 31 Justin Bieber

= 31 Rihanna

04 25 Chris Brown

05 24 Nicki Minaj

06 23 David Guetta

= 23 Ed Sheeran

= 23 Lil Wayne

= 23 Pitbull

10 22 Beyoncé

11 20 Example

= 20 Tinie Tempah

13 18 Drake

14 17 Eminem

= 17 Kanye West

16 16 Flo Rida

= 16 Jason Derulo

= 16 Jessie J

= 16 One Direction

If you asked me the question 'which artist has the most top 40/75/100 hits in the decade to date?' I would've guessed wrong actually. Completely forgot about Glee Cast, as most of their hits were one-week wonders and they are no longer popular. Would make for a good future pub quiz question actually
FYI, comparing the combined T200 chart v the download chart in C+, there look to be about 25 songs in the former that wouldn't have made it without streaming.

any reason why we're only getting a top 40? :drama:

Ed Sheeran and FAUL & Wad Ad/Pnau become the first victims of the chart change

I don't think Ed has too much to complain about, though...

I don't think Ed has too much to complain about, though...

I know lol, that comment is a bit ironic considering Ed Sheeran is the artist who benefits the most from streaming. All of the Stars doesn't appear to be available for streaming though so it won't go top 40 officially despite having been in the top 40 sales chart,

Does anyone have the missing positions from the singles sales chart? ;)

They're only available from that week's ChartsPlus edition so will not be posted on here (the OCC has updated their archive to include a singles sales chart archive but it is only a top 40, as with their other archives, so the information will probably never be freely available).

Thanks. Do you know if MW lists the full chart as well?

I'm afraid I wouldn't know about that as I'm not subscribed to MW (I'm not subscribed to ChartsPlus either but Vidcapper reliably informs us that they did post the full singles sales and streaming charts for 12/07).

Great, thank you for the info. I'll contact C+ or Vidcapper for more details ;)
