July 11, 201411 yr Author I am mostly surprised here by how low 'Pompeii' is on streaming - you'd think it'd be right near the top, but at the same time it's probably no big YouTube hit. 'Problem' will probably pass everything above it until 'Talk Dirty', with 'Fancy' being the only song below that that'll stay ahead. Very good for a Disney act, I wonder will it outsell both of Miley's singles from last year.
July 11, 201411 yr Take 'Frozen' out the equation and the mid-year albums are pitiful looking... Luckily we have Q3 and Q4 to pick things up a bit (hopefully!)
July 11, 201411 yr Christ at the lead that 'Frozen' has. I knew it'd be some way ahead but not by nearly 4 to 1... :drama: Brilliant to see 'Pure Heroine' (and 'Ghost Stories') near the top even if it's on pretty poor sales. Lorde should overtake Eric Church on the YTD ~this week as well based on their current weekly positions.
July 14, 201411 yr Only 38 songs sold 1 million copies in the first half of the year. Last year the number was 51 :( On the albums, Frozen has already outsold the #1 of last year (The 20/20 Experience), which would be encouraging if it wasn't for the rest of the list
July 14, 201411 yr Thanks for these Umi, underlines it's not been a vintage year of releases for albums in particular so far, and singles are about 50/50 good/indifferent...
July 14, 201411 yr Author The scary thing about the albums is I can't see ANYTHING in that top 20 crossing a million. Albums just don't have staying power in the US, everything is so frontloaded.
July 21, 201410 yr The scary thing about the albums is I can't see ANYTHING in that top 20 crossing a million. you're right :(
