Jodie Foster = A great actress who I always enjoy "Taxi Driver" (a weird and brilliant movie, and Jodie was brilliant in her role, which was so challenging), "Bugsy Malone" (a classic from my childhood, so fun and brilliant), "The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane" (a great story, kept me hooked all the way through and has some great plot twists), "Freaky Friday" (a good watch, nice classic 70's feel to it), 1*"The Hotel New Hampshire" (just didn't like, too weird for my liking and a bit stupid), "The Accused" (a brilliant performance and excellent through and through and really harrowing), "The Silence of the Lambs" (one of my all time faves, just perfection), "Maverick" (a fun movie, quite funny and quirky), "Contact" (just stupid really really stupid and pointless), "Panic Room" (okay but a bit disappointing), "Flightplan" (I really liked this, okay it was a tad predictable, but entertaining none the less), "Inside Man" (a great twisty thriller), 2*"The Brave One" (okay but quite dull and nothing special), "The Beaver" (a total car crash, didn't expect this), "Elysium" (a great sci-fi action movie, really fun).

Jennifer Lopez = A good actress but a bit hit and miss film wise, "Money Train" (awful, but Jen was stunning in this), "Jack" (an okay movie, but forgettable), "Selena" (her best role to date), "Anaconda" (really enjoyed when I was a kid, but now it's fun but a bit silly and that snake so fake looking), "U-Turn" (really twisted and weird), "Out Of Sight" (another great role for her, brilliant chemistry between the leads), "Antz" (an okay kids movie, quite fun), "The Cell" (a really good movie, very interesting and different), "The Wedding Planner" (a nice enough piece of fluff), "Angel Eyes" (dull and boring), "Enough" (run of mill and has been done to death, more like a TV movie), "Maid In Manhattan" (a pretty good movie), "Gigli" (terrible, don't get me started), "Shall We Dance" (an okay movie, nothing special), "Monster In Law" (quite fun, but could have been better), "An Unfinished Life" (really good and underrated), 3*"The Back Up Plan" (stupid), "Parker" (okay but silly action fluff)

1* Do you remember Kinski's character and outfit..? :P

2* Noooooooooooo..."The Brave One" is one of her best roles. I love this movie.

3* It's an offensive movie for eveyone on this planet.. :P

thats amazing Jeremy but im gonna go home now and look at my vagina with a hand mirror

I'm really sorry for this but I wached so many movies at the cinema in the last weeks. I usually write a Greek and English review and it takes me a lot of time. That's why I haven't posted in this thread yet.

Glenn Close

http://famesurgery.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Glenn-Close.jpg

What an amazing actress!!! Glenn Close hasn't won any Academy Award yet, although she deserved a lot of them..She is an American film, television and stage actress. Her first film role was in "The World According to Garp" (1982) which she followed up with supporting roles in "The Big Chill" (1983), and "The Natural" (1984); all three earned her nominations for the Academy Award for "Best Supporting Actress". She would later receive nominations for the Academy Award for "Best Actress" for her performances in Fatal Attraction (1987), Dangerous Liaisons (1988), and Albert Nobbs (2011). Throughout her long and varied career, she has been consistently acclaimed for her versatility and is considered by many to be one of the greatest actresses of all time (l totally agree..). She has won three Emmy Awards and three Tony Awards. Close is a six-time Academy Award nominee, tying the record for being the actress with the most nominations never to have won (along with Deborah Kerr and Thelma Ritter). She has also been nominated three times for a Grammy Award and once for a BAFTA. Three members appreciate her acting and they voted her (One of them was me)!

I have watched some of her movies so far : Fatal Attraction (She was great there, she deserved the Golden Statuette but..), The House of The Spirits (Intriguing script, very good plot, great performances, plus Meryl Streep & Glenn Close), Mars Attacks! (Quite funny movie), 101 Dalmatians (She was perfect as Cruella de Vil), Le Divorce (forgettable), The Stepford Wives (A little bit disappointing), Nine Lives (I really like this movie, interesting script with unpredictable ending), Albert Nobbs (Charismatic performances, interesting script) and Guardians of the Galaxy (One of the most exciting movies this year!).

I would suggest you to watch "Fatal Attraction" because it's one of the best movies of the 80's, "The House of The Spirits" because the cast is amazing and the story has something to say, "101 Dalmatians" because it was one of the best adaptation in 90's, "Nine Lives" because it has mystery and suspense, "Albert Nobbs" because Glenn was incredible with her role and the story is quite unusual and "Guardians of the Galaxy" because it's one of the most pleasant movies this year! I'm sure that you will enjoy it a lot.

Amy Poehler

http://images.lifeandstylemag.com/uploads/posts/image/31908/amy-poehler-taylor-swift-hell.jpg

The truth is that I don't know anything about Amy Poehler. When I saw her name in this rate, I tried to remember who she could be..Maybe Americans and British are more connected with her in comparison with people who live in other countries. Amy Poehler is an American actress, comedian, voice artist, producer and writer. Her father is of German, Irish, Portuguese, and English ancestry, and her mother is of Irish descent. Poehler was raised in the Catholic faith. Her first film role was in "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" (1999). She was a cast member on the NBC television show Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2008. In 2004, she became the co-anchor of the Weekend Update sketch along with her friend and colleague Tina Fey. Poehler's work on SNL earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series". Since 2009, she has starred as Leslie Knope in the sitcom "Parks and Recreation", for which she has received five consecutive nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series", and three consecutive Golden Globe nominations for "Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series", with one win in 2014. Three members had her name on their lsits.

I have watched only two of her movies so far : Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (Funny but ridiculous too) and Mean Girls (Very funny).

I would suggest you to watch "Mean Girls" but I'm sure that you have already watched it a couple of times. However, I think that she is too high in this rate based on her poor filmography..

Emma Watson

http://cache.pakistantoday.com.pk/Emma-Watson-hair-Vogue-14May14-PA_b_426x639.jpg

Emma Watson is the most beautiful young actress for me! She is very sweet and elegant too. She is an English actress and model. Watson was born in Paris and she lived there until the age of five. Then she moved back to England to live with her mother in Oxfordshire while spending weekends at her father's house in London. She is famous for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. She starred in all eight Harry Potter films, alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Watson's work on the Harry Potter series has earned her several awards and more than £10 million!!! In October 2013, she was voted Sexiest Female Movie Star in a worldwide poll conducted by Empire magazine. She has promoted education for girls, visiting Bangladesh and Zambia to do so. Watson was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014. She helped launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe, which calls for men to advocate for "gender equality". She is a great role model for young people. Three members like her acting and they voted her.

I have watched many of her films so far : Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (The beginning was very good and it had some funny scenes), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (The most dark part of the series), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (One of my favourite part of the series), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (It had great ending and I'm sure that hardcore fans would have cried in the cinema), My Week with Marilyn (Nice movie with nice performances, Marilyn was IDOL), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (it was one of my favourite movies last year) and Noah (Very disappointing and I feel that her acting wasn't very good).

I would suggest you to watch "Harry Potter Films" but I'm sure that you have already watched them (It's quite weird to suggest these movies to British.. :P), "My Week with Marilyn" because it was a decent movie and the story was interesting (especially for the fans of Marilyn) and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" because it's an emotional story with intriguing characters and charismatic performances. Plus, the soundtrack was awesome.

Julie Andrews

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2QLhc7m4mEU/Uf222PLuIdI/AAAAAAAAF3s/GLe0gFkWslE/s1600/Julie%20Andrews%202.png

Julie Andrews is one of the most elegant actresses worldwide!! She is a very talented woman. She is an English film and stage actress, singer, author, theatre director and dancer. Her debut film was La Rosa di Bagdad (1949). However, her first major role was in "Mary Poppins" fifteen years later. She won the Academy Award for "Best Actress" for her brilliant performance. She received her second Academy Award nomination for "The Sound of Music" (1965), and won the Golden Globe Award for "Best Actress in a Musical". Many viewers loved that movie and Julie Andrews was popular everywhere!! Critics praised her for her amazing performance! "The Sound of Music" displaced "Gone with the Wind" as the highest-grossing film of all-time that year. Between 1964 and 1967, she had other box office successes with "The Americanization of Emily", "Hawaii", Alfred Hitchcock's "Torn Curtain", and "Thoroughly Modern Millie", making her the most successful film star in the world at that time. However, her career was not always successful. In the 1970s, Andrews' film career slowed down following the commercial disappointments of "Star!", "Darling Lili", and "The Tamarind Seed". She returned to prominence with the critical and commercial successes of "10" (1979) and "Victor Victoria" (1982), receiving a third Academy Award nomination. Andrews' film career revived once more in the 2000s with the successes of "The Princess Diaries" (2001), its sequel "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" (2004), the "Shrek" animated films (2004–2010), and "Despicable Me" (2010). In addition to an Academy Award, she has won a BAFTA, five Golden Globes, three Grammys, two Emmys, the Disney Legend award and the Kennedy Center Honors. Three members had her name on their lists.

I have watched a few of her movies so far : Mary Poppins (Entertaining movie), The Sound of Music (My favourite musical ever!), The Princess Diaries (Funny but childish too), Shrek 2 (Very funny) and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (Not so good as the first film).

I would suggest you to watch "Mary Poppins" because it's one of the most popular movies of the 60s and "The Sound of Music" because it defined the 60s. It has great performances, great songs and nice story. You will love it because it's one of the best films ever!

Charlotte Gainsbourg

2012-02-08-9440-0191_Charlotte_Gainsbourg_IMG_x900.jpg

I believe that Charlotte Gainsbourg is a very special actress. The best thing about her is the fact that she is not predictable with her roles and she is always decent with her performances. She is an Anglo-French actress and singer (I really thought that she was only french). She is the daughter of English actress Jane Birkin and French singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. She was born in London but she was raised in Paris. French is Gainsbourg's first language, but she is also fluent in English. She made her musical debut with her father on the song "Lemon Incest" at the age of twelve and she released an album with her father at the age of fifteen. She made her motion picture debut playing Catherine Deneuve's daughter in the film "Paroles et musique" (1984). In 1986, she won a César Award for "Most Promising Actress" for "L'effrontée", and, in 2000, she won "Best Supporting Actress" for the film "La Bûche". In 1993, Gainsbourg made her English speaking debut in "The Cement Garden", written and directed by her uncle, Andrew Birkin. In 2009, she won the award for "Best Actress" at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival for the film "Antichrist". She collaborated with von Trier once again on his 2013 film "Nymphomaniac", in which she plays the lead character. Gainsbourg's longtime partner is French-Israeli actor/director Yvan Attal and they have 3 children. Two members love this incredible woman.

I have watched a few of her movies so far : 21 Grams (I don't remember her but the movie was very good), Antichrist (Intriguing plot but it's not one of the best Trier's films), The Tree (Nice movie with emotional performances), Melancholia (Amazing photography, nice performances but I felt extremely depressed in the cinema) and Nymphomaniac (Intriguing and enlightening story, raw performances, realistic scenes but it's not one of the best Trier's films).

I would suggest you to watch "21 Grams" because it's definitely one of the best films of 2003, "The Tree" because it's a very sweet movie, "Melancholia" because it has great cinematography and beautiful atmospheric shots and "Nymphomaniac" because it's surely one of the most special movies in this year. It's not very good but it's quite different than the rest. Maybe, you will feel offensive with some scenes. However, you will remember it for a long time..

Natalie Portman

http://www.wallpapers-photos.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Natalie-Portman-photos.jpg

Natalie Portman is one of the best actresses of her generation!!! I wouldn't say that the majority of her films are great but she took part in some notable movies. She was born in Jerusalem. In 1984, when she was three years old, her family moved to the United States, where her father received his medical training. Her first role was as an orphan taken in by a hitman in the 1994 action film "Léon: The Professional", but mainstream success came when she was cast as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (released in 1999, 2002 and 2005). She studied ballet and modern dance at the "American Theater Dance Workshop" in New Hyde Park, New York, and attended the Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts in Wheatley Heights, both on Long Island. In 1999, she enrolled at Harvard University to study psychology while still working as an actress. In 2003, she graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. degree in psychology. "I don't care if (college) ruins my career," she told the New York Post. "I'd rather be smart than a movie star." In 2005, she won a Golden Globe Award and received an Academy Award nomination for "Best Supporting Actress" for her performance in the drama "Closer". In May 2008, she served as the youngest member of the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival jury! In 2010, she starred in the psychological thriller "Black Swan". Her performance received critical praise and earned her an Academy Award, her second Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, the BAFTA Award and the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award in 2011! Two members had her name on their lists.

I have watched many of her movies so far : Mars Attacks! (Crazy story with great cast), Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (It's my least favourite of the prequel trilogy), Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (I want to watch it again because I don't remember it at all. I prefer the first three movies though), Cold Mountain (great story with great performances), Garden State (the characters were funny and interesting. Plus, it had something nostalgic), Closer (I found it quite boring and underrated), Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (I want to watch it again because I don't remember it at all), V for Vendetta (One of my favourite movies ever! It had iconic scenes), The Other Boleyn Girl (One of the best movies that year, underrated movie), The Other Woman (It wasn't a good movie/ Surely, it's one of my worst movies that year), Black Swan (Brilliant performance, intriguing story), No Strings Attached (I enjoyed it because it had some funny moments. It's nothing special though. A typical Hollywood film), Thor (The visual effects were impressive but the script wasn't great) and Thor: The Dark World (I found it worse than the first film).

I would suggest you to watch "Cold Mountain" because it was one of the best movies in 2003, "Garden State" because it had nice script and likeable characters, "V for Vendetta" because it's one of the most meaningful movies of the 2000s, "The Other Boleyn Girl" because it was an interesting story with great directing and "Black Swan" because she gave her best performance! She really deserved the Academy Award!

Where The Heart Is is easily her best movie to date, such a touching movie. No Strings Attached is also very good, much better than Friends With Benefits which is

basically the same film.

Natalie Portman  I completely agree. Black Swan was by far her best performance. Very memorable!

I haven't watched "Where The Heart Is" yet but I will keep it in my mind. I will probably watch it in the next weeks. I haven't watched "Friends with Benefits" too but I knew that they have similar plot. I couldn't help but wonder why the studios released them at the same time..

Helen Mirren

http://www.prevention.com/your-beauty/sites/default/files/yb/uploads/imce/Helen-Mirren-golden-globes-2012_0.jpg

What a great actress!!! I'm so glad that she is in the Top 20 of this rate! She is very elegant woman! Critics totally love her because she is very talented and she has a wide variety of roles. Helen Mirren could never be a boring actress. She is an English actor. Her father was Russian and her mother was English. She began her acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the latter half of the 1960s. Her debut role was in "Herostratus" in 1967! During her career, she has portrayed three British queens in different films and television series: Elizabeth I in the television series "Elizabeth I" (2005), for which she received Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for "Best Actress", Elizabeth II in "The Queen" (2006), which won her the Academy and BAFTA Award for 'Best Actress", and Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in "The Madness of King George" (1994), for which she earned an Academy Award nomination for "Best Supporting Actress". She is the only actress to date to have portrayed both Queens Elizabeth on the screen! She has also won two Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Awards. In 2003, she received a damehood in the Order of the British Empire for services to the performing arts! Thee members voted this amazing woman!

I have watched some of her movies so far : Excalibur (I was child when I watched it on tv and I don't remember many things about it. I need to watch it again), The Pledge (Intriguing script with mystery), The Clearing (Interesting script, nice performances), Raising Helen (Pleasant movie), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (I didn't enjoy it so much, the script wasn't very good and it was a little boring too), The Queen (Brilliant performance), National Treasure: Book of Secrets (Forgettable), State of Play (incredibly tiresome, too much information), RED (I really enjoyed it, it had fun and action), The Debt (Decent movie, intriguing story with nice performances), Hitchcock (It's not bad but it's not great either. However, I enjoyed it a lot. Especially for the fans of "Psycho) and RED 2 (It was very funny, much better than the first film).

I would suggest you to watch "The Pledge" because it's an underrated movie, "The Queen" because Mirren gave her best performance, "The Debt" because it was an interesting movie about an awful human being and "RED" + "RED 2" if you like action movies with funny quotes. "The Clearing" was also good but it had some boring moments too.

I have to tell you that 7 from your 11 choices are in the Top 11..

I didn't expect Jessica Lange to be in the Top 20. However, she is a very good actress. This scene belongs to one her most famous movies..King Kong (1976)

Emma Stone

http://www.lavidadeserendipity.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/emma-stone-short-hair.jpg

I really like this woman although I haven't watched many of her movies. She is very likeable to me and I noticed that she has many beautiful photos in google (in comparision with other actresses). I thought that she was a British actress but I just knew that she is an American actress (wikipedia). She was born in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was homeschooled for two years, during which time she appeared in sixteen productions at Valley Youth Theatre, including "The Princess and the Pea", "Alice in Wonderland", and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", and performed with the theater's improv comedy troupe. Her parents also sent her for private lessons with a local acting coach who had worked at the William Morris Agency in the 1970s and still had Hollywood connections. In January 2004, at the age of fifteen, she moved with her mother to an apartment in Los Angeles and began homeschooling again. Stone attended Xavier College Preparatory, an all-girl Catholic high school, as a freshman for one semester. Despite this, she was raised as a Lutheran. She gave a PowerPoint presentation to her parents, set to the Madonna song "Hollywood", to convince them to let her move to California for an acting career. Her debut role was in "Superbad' in 2007. However, she made her leading debut in "Easy A", for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for "Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy". In 2014, Stone reprised her role as Gwen Stacy in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and co-starred in "Magic in the Moonlight" and "Birdman". Two members totally love Emma Stone!

I have watched a few of her movies so far : Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (It wasn't very funny, it was quite silly, it had poor script), The Amazing Spider-Man (I enjoyed it a lot, great visual effects, nice characters), Gangster Squad (I had heard a lot of bad comments about this movie but it wasn't bad at all. Maybe, I had low expectations), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (One of my favourite blockbusters this year! However, I didn't like the ending) and Magic in the Moonlight (funny story with likeable characters)

I would suggest you to watch "The Amazing Spider-Man" because Marc Webb did a great job and the new couple was better than the old one, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" because it had a lot of action and impressive visual effects and "Magic in the Moonlight" because Woody Allen always knows how to make nice movies.

Anna Faris

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-462GCxaYUWQ/UjoaOZTqj7I/AAAAAAAACiI/OnRVtzAaqfY/s1600/Anna%20Faris.jpg

This was one of the biggest surprise in this rate. I would never expect to see Anna Faris in the Top 20. However, I laughed so much with her role in Scary Movies series. She was hilarious! She is very likeable too. I don't know anyone who hates Anna Faris (otherwise he/she shouldn't exist). Anna Faris is an American actress and singer. Her parents encouraged her to pursue acting when she was young and she gave her first professional acting performance at the age of 9 in a three-month run of Arthur Miller's one-act play Danger: Memory! at the Seattle Repertory Theater! Her first film role came shortly after college with her independent film, "Lovers Lane" in 1999, in which she played an ill-fated cheerleader. However, her breakout role came the following year in 2000 in the horror-film parody Scary Movie where she played Cindy Campbell. She reprised the role in three of the four sequels, Scary Movie 2 (2001), Scary Movie 3 (2003), and Scary Movie 4 (2006). She did not return for Scary Movie 5 (2013). In 2010, Cosmopolitan magazine named her "the Cosmo’s Fun Fearless Female of the Year" – stating that "She makes us laugh – and cringe – by pushing the limits of comedy in a way no other actress can". Tad Friend described her in The New Yorker as "Hollywood's most original comic actress"! She married Chris Pratt in 2009. They have one child. Two members love this woman and they gave many points to her (9.0 & 7.0).

I have watched some of her movies so far : Scary Movie (One of the best parodies ever!!!H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S), Scary Movie 2 (It has some funny moments but I think that it's the worst film of the series), The Hot Chick (I laughed a lot with this movie but it was quite bad as concept, so bad it's good), Lost in Translation (It was a boring and overrated film, I don't remember her role), Scary Movie 3 (Very funny), Brokeback Mountain (I had heard a lot of comments but I found it overrated. It wasn't great. However, the soundtrack was great), Scary Movie 4 (It has many funny scenes but it wasn't better than the first film), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (Funny movie but a little bit silly in some parts) and The Dictator (I enjoyed it a lot but it wasn't very good as "Bruno").

I would suggest you to watch "Scary Movie" because it's one of the most funny movies that I've ever watched, "The Hot Chick" if you like broad comedies, "Scary Movie 3" because it has many funny scenes and you will enjoy it a lot and "Scary Movie 4" because it's very entertaining.

Anna Faris is great especially in the house bunny and is one of the best parts about the very overrated dictator

Emma is fantastic in everything's she's been in such as magic in the moonlight, she is also amazing as Gwen Stacy but her best role is in the fabulous easy a which she is superb in

Do you believe that "Dictator" was overrated? I thought that his fans totally disappointed about it. However, I laughed a lot during the movie.

I have to watch "Easy A" because Emma received positive reviews about her performance. Gwen Stacey was adorable though. I really liked "Magic in the Moonlight" and her character. She was very funny without being ridiculous.
