Welcome Buzzjack to Round 23 of Lady Gaga's Least Fave Single Poll. 22 Votes were cast and the song with the most votes was Telephone, which gained 9 votes and finishes in 7th place meaning we FINALLY lose one of 'The Fame Monster' era singles. Released in January 2010 as the 2nd single from the 'FM' (EP) and features mega icon singer Beyonce. Gaga originally wrote this for Britney Spears, who did record a demo for her 6th studio album 'Circus' but she rejected it. The song was seen as an instant standout upon release and became a monster smash hit worldwide by topping the charts in Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Ireland, Norway and the UK as well as hitting top 3 peaks in 12 other countries. A true masterclass in dance pop collaboration from both artists who were at the very peak of their game and fame. The vocal chemistry, pounding electro house beats and catchy melodies make this an instant career standout. Although it does feel a little dated now, but still a solid bop though. The last round was a double elimination and we finally say goodbye to NOT one but Two Lady Gaga chart toppers in what has to be the tightest race yet. Just Dance gained the highest amount of votes with 9, then it was a tie between 2 other songs in which it went into the deadlock round & Rain On Me becomes the other song to get the chop scoring 8 in the first round and gaining a whopping 12 votes against 'The Edge of Glory' in the deadlock round. For the first time ever every song in the last round gained votes. 'The Edge of Glory' came very close to leaving with 8 votes in the main round, then only scored 6 in the deadlock round against 'Rain On Me'. 'Paparazzi' gained 7 votes. After taking a break from the usual voting poll in the last round, the final 10 was ranked by you the Buzzjack voters. 17 of you ranked and the song that scored the lowest amount of points was Born This Way which scored just 54 points out of a possible 170 & therefore finishes in 10th place. The song had 5 last place rankings and didn't get higher than 4th place. Therefore it seemed that this was the clear choice to go next. Released in February 2011 as the lead single from Gaga's 2nd studio album of the same name & had a lot prove due to the massive success she had previously with 'The Fame/Fame Monster' era & thankfully she kept the momentum going with this massive self empowerment anthem that went onto top the charts in 25 countries worldwide and quickly became one of her most well known singles of her career. This is absolutely over the top, campy and brilliant in equal measures. A defining synth pop anthem of self empowerment and an inspirational LGBTQ anthem for the ages. A great song that set the tone perfectly for a brand new era.
