16 ATB feat. Yolanda Rivera '9PM (Till I Come)' (133)

Semi Final 1; 6th (165)

UP 7 {23-16}

till i come -> AH Gold, gavindeejay (20)

Two more 90s hits for you in this section, and firstly it is one of my favourites from 1999, ATB's '9PM' which is very good, I love the guitar in this which plays a catchy riff centred around a trance/house crossover production.

15 Snap! 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' (136)

Semi Final 2: 3rd (170)

DOWN 6 {09-15}

rhythm is a dancer, it's a source companion -> Iz~ (18)

Falling out of the top 10 is Snap! with their dance classic which is the perfect example of eurodance/house. When you take out the rap that is.

The rap is the bit that elevates Rhythm Is a Dancer into 11/10 worthiness. So so brilliant.

Shame to see it fall out of the top 10 but lovely to see Latch climbing up, that's probably a future top 10 once it ages a bit.

14 Eric Prydz 'Call On Me' (141)

Semi Final 2; 6th (156)

NEW ENTRY

call on me -> JSG (20)

After this, for whatever reason, failed to qualify last year, people have rightfully remembered this classic. It's another one I remember from at the time, as it was around 2003/4 when I started listening to chart music and I loved it. And still do, Eric Prydz' production is superb as always and he manages to make good use of the sample without making it sound like a remake of the original song.

13 David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland 'When Love Takes Over' (146)

Semi Final 2: 7th (151)

UP 3 {16-13}

when love takes over, yeeeeeeeah -> AaronTM, Riser (20)

The first of two Guetta entries (could Titanium be #1 this year?) climbs up to #13. Whilst it's not my favourite of his I do appreciate it for the lovely dance-pop song that it is.

I'm serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer though? :lol:

But I do prefer the 12" mix which omits the rap, I just like the instrumental breakdown before the return of the main tune and vocal

really liking ALL of these songs but i swear if titanium wins i will cut off ma nipple

Iconic. You don't expect something like that when you're listening to such a good song and it makes the whole thing stand out more.

12 Swedish House Mafia feat. John Martin 'Don't You Worry Child' (147)

Semi Final 1; 8th (161)

UP 8 {20-12}

don't u worry don't u worry child -> RabbitFurCoat (20)

Finally we get to the third song out of three in the countdown for SHM. It's hard to choose a best song from them when this, One and Greyhound are all special in their own way, but I do very much appreciate this for being emotional, not just lyrically but also in their production which really suits the song. When it builds up so well, the drop simply cannot disappoint.

11 Faithless 'Insomnia' (153)

Semi Final 1: 9th (160)

DOWN 6 {05-11}

insomnia please release me -> 152chris (20)

Also sadly dropping out of the top 10 is Insomnia, which just misses out, although the points difference between this and #10 is 8 points so it wasn't very close. It's a brilliant trance song especially in its full version with its amazing intro leading into drop #1, and then 5 minutes in we get treated to a rap, with an interesting subject matter. A great example of how a 9 minute dance track is done. I have linked to the shorter version as it has a video clip though.

Now we get to the top 10. Here it is in alphabetical order:

Corona - Rhythm Of The Night

Darude - Sandstorm

David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium

DJ Jurgen presents Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone

DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do - Heaven

N-Trance feat. Kelly Llorenna - Set You Free

Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love

Robert Miles - Children

Roger Sanchez - Another Chance

Underworld - Born Slippy

Which means Corona, Rihanna/Calvin, Robert Miles and Roger Sanchez become new to the top 10, replacing Faithless, Spiller, Snap and Source.

Predictions?

titanium will win and i will roll my eyes and they'll get stuck in the back of my head

hoping for corona / roger sanchez to do the business!

10 Darude 'Sandstorm' (161)

Semi Final 1; 7th (163)

DOWN 6 {04-10}

sandstorm -> Iz~, JackJones (20)

Darude starts the top 10 with the crazily good instrumental hit 'Sandstorm'. The song recently got some internet popularity after becoming the answer to every 'what song is playing?' question on YouTube. Anyway it's really energetic and deserves to be heard for the trance anthem that it is.

09 Robert Miles 'Children' (167)

Semi Final 1: 4th (170)

UP 2 {11-09}

children -> Ethan, Chez Wombat (19)

And while we're at it let's throw another instrumental song in. Actually no I'm not making this up. Anyway, yay for Children actually going top 10 this year! It's a beautiful song, how could you resist that piano melody? :wub:

Songs left:

Corona - Rhythm Of The Night

David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium

DJ Jurgen presents Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone

DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do - Heaven

N-Trance feat. Kelly Llorenna - Set You Free

Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love

Roger Sanchez - Another Chance

Underworld - Born Slippy

08 Underworld 'Born Slippy' (173)

Semi Final 1; 11th (126)

DOWN 1 {07-08}

she smiled at you, boy -> { bré }, Dandy* (19)

The good songs keep on coming and now we have this atypical dance hit, which I do love for its originality. The lyrics still make no sense though.

07 Corona 'Rhythm of the Night' (186)

Semi Final 1: 5th (168)

UP 29 {36-07}

this is the rhythm of the night -> Jester (20)

Making a massive climb into the top 10, it's 90s eurodance classic 'Rhythm of the Night', which recently got covered by Bastille. That version reminding Buzzjackers of the original may be a factor for its climb, but even if it is it's still deserving of a top 10 place, although I wouldn't put it here myself.

Songs left:

David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium

DJ Jurgen presents Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone

DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do - Heaven

N-Trance feat. Kelly Llorenna - Set You Free

Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love

Roger Sanchez - Another Chance

Another Chance needs to LEAVE.

The other five songs left define perfection. Three of them are in my all time top six *.*

Another Chance needs to LEAVE.

You need to reevaluate your LIFE! Out of the six remaining it's the only one I love.

Right back at'cha! A world without love for Better Off Alone and Set You Free is surely a world devoid of happiness :o

I totally agree with Cal. Another Chance is the best song left by a mile! :wub:

Anything but Better Off Alone & We Found Love to win. :drama: The latter is much more pop than dance imo. :angel:

06 DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do 'Heaven' (193)

Semi Final 1; 1st (205)

DOWN 3 {03-06}

we're in heaven -> jsliv (20)

Just missing the top 5 this year is 00s eurotrance hit Heaven, which I find is quite good but generic. It's my least fave in the top 10.

05 N-Trance feat. Kelly Llorenna 'Set You Free' (197)

Semi Final 2: 2nd (174)

DOWN 4 {01-05}

only love can set you free -> Ethan, gooddelta, Aled, Jonjo (20)

N-Trance drops from last year's #1, which means we have a new #1 this year :o The song is still a 90s classic and deserving of the love it gets anyway, the thunder and vocals really add emotion to it :heart:

04 David Guetta feat. Sia 'Titanium' (205)

Semi Final 1; 2nd (181)

UP 2 {06-04}

i won't fall, i am titanium -> O Mie d'Bandit (20)

Titanium doesn't quite make #1 this year but it does climb into the top 5. I'm sure it'll get there someday anyhow. The song is brilliantly done, and unlike other Guetta songs the lyrics aren't generic for once and Sia sings really well on it. The production is fantastic too, as a song it just feels epic and it's so so good. Unfortunately it just misses top 3 though.

03 Roger Sanchez 'Another Chance' (207)

Semi Final 2: 1st (182)

UP 14 {17-03}

if i had another chance tonight -> Jade, Cal, ketalina (20)

So Buzzjack's third favourite dance song of all time is this. I am quite surprised that it's this high actually, but it's nice to see lots of love for it. A great house tune that also was a UK #1, I didn't discover it until a few years ago though.

So the #1 is a race between DJ Jurgen/Alice Deejay and Rihanna/Calvin Harris. :o What will make it though?
