August 2, 201412 yr Author 53 Mr. Probz 'Waves (Robin Schulz Remix)' (74) NEW ENTRY wave after wave, slowly drifting -> Thermo (20) I was quite annoyed that this failed to make the final, especially as it was in it for most of the time I was counting up votes, but I can only hope that this grows on people over time and turns into a #danceclassic. It's my favourite song of 2014, I just think it's beautiful. pUjE9H8QlA4 52 H "Two" O feat. Platnum 'What's It Gonna Be' (77) UP 31 {83-52} what's it gonna be? -> Doug, jsliv (20) And the final song before the final 51 is this, and to be honest I'm glad this missed the final as it's not as good as the majority of what finished above it in the semi-final. Nice enough song but T2 did the whole garage thing better with Heartbroken. jd_4OrFH3EU
August 2, 201412 yr Author 51 Strike 'U Sure Do' (63) Semi Final 1; 21st (91) NEW ENTRY you sure do, come on baby -> Jester (18) Taking the wooden spoon in the final and just missing out on a top 50 place is this song from 1994 which peaked the following year at #4. Not a big fan of this one so it's not disappointing to see it miss the top 50 especially considering the songs that sit at the bottom of the top 50 are better than this. OybSwl05Zok 50 Cascada feat. Carlprit 'Evacuate the Dancefloor' (66) Semi Final 2: 18th (93) UP 13 {63-50} evacuate the dancefloor, i'm infected by the sound -> Ultraviolence (17) The first of two Cascada entries in the top 50. And I am pleased at Buzzjack's collective taste in Cascada hits as their best 2 singles make the top 50. I like this as a dance-pop song and whilst it's generic it's not painfully so and makes for a good song. I am glad that it's not too high though, as it's more pop-influenced than the other songs in this countdown. A68j28KQaik
August 2, 201412 yr Author 49 The Nightcrawlers 'Push the Feeling On (MK Version)' (71) Semi Final 1; 22nd (91) NEW ENTRY let's push it, let's push the feeling on -> ketalina (17) Well this is far too low. In terms of 90s house songs this is as good as it gets really. What an amazing song, it's got so much to it, saxophone, strings, a lovely bassline riff and MK's signature house beat. At least it made it this year, so so good. rSzpOUwiLkc 48 Rui Da Silva feat. Cassandra Fox 'Touch Me' (77) Semi Final 1: 25th (74) NEW ENTRY touch me in the morning -> Cal, ketalina (18) Another lovely house track, except this one is more trance-influenced. Listening to it for the first time in ages and I think I need to give it more listens because it's very good. (*adds to iPod playlist*) 3FkApmj8K1M
August 2, 201412 yr U Sure Do is amazing and I'm upset it's come last in the final! Glad Changes is so high up too, maybe it could even make the final next year. What's It Gonna Be is such a good dance tune too so I'm glad to see that so high!
August 2, 201412 yr Author 47 Daft Punk 'Digital Love' (78) Semi Final 1; 23rd (90) NEW ENTRY i wish this dream comes true -> Jason (20) Keeping the 2001 vibes going from Rui Da Silva in the last section, Digital Love enters at #47 to become Daft Punk's first of three entries in the top 50 and Thomas Bangalter's first of four. It's a lovely song and the robot vocals work well and definitely give it the feel that the lyrics are trying to give it. OnsnZvR4X68 46 Donna Summer 'I Feel Love' (79) Semi Final 2: 20th (92) DOWN 21 {25-46} i feel love -> Liam (19) For a second year running, this is the oldest song in the countdown, having been released in 1977. It sounds like its from the 80s though, with its great Giorgo Morodor production which gave disco a nice update. C2q2bis6eLE
August 2, 201412 yr Author 45 Avicii feat. Etta James 'Levels' (81) Semi Final 1; 24th (77) DOWN 1 {44-45} sometimes i get a good feeling -> Thermo (20) This was excellent at the time and still sounds so so good today. What a well-produced song. It was the song that turned from Avicii fan to Avicii superfan and I'm sure it got many others into Avicii. The Etta James sample in the middle of the song is good too but Avicii's production really sells it for me and it remains my most listened to song on iTunes/last.fm. _ovdm2yX4MA 44 Dario G 'Sunchyme' (83) Semi Final 2: 16th (107) DOWN 18 {26-44} heyo mah mah mah -> Doug (19) I love beautiful dance songs and this is no exception. The piano intro is really good (one for the intros thread) and I love the tribal feel of the lyrics in this. And a steel drum sounding instrument in the drop! An all-around great song and rightfully a 90s dance classic 1YTqmMDd3zs
August 2, 201412 yr Digital Love has the best robot vocals ever. Sunchyme should have been top 20. It's brilliant. Levels is still my favourite Avicii single. Meh at I Feel Love. SAW's production 'This Time I Know It's For Real' is Donna Summer's best single to date by a mile.
August 3, 201412 yr Author 43 Avicii vs. Nicky Romero feat. Noonie Bao 'I Could Be The One' (83) Semi Final 2; 17th (100) DOWN 9 {34-43} i could be the one to set you free -> Thermo, AH Gold (15) These Avicii songs keep dropping  We have 2 more though so don't worry :D This is one of my favourites of his anyway, it's got the typical Avicii sound which is done so well. Nicky Romero is also a nice feature in this and adds some edge to the drop which I love. The high pitched vocals are also lovely, overall it's a high quality song. bek1y2uiQGA 42 Sash! feat. Sabine Ohmes 'Encore Une Fois' (89) Semi Final 1: 13th (116) NEW ENTRY encore une fois -> gavindeejay (18) The last of the Sash! entries, this is a nice little trance song, and better than the 2008 mix with Stunt. Good choice of version Buzzjack. B-) XO05NftxXgc
August 3, 201412 yr Author 41 Leona Lewis & Avicii 'Collide' (90) Semi Final 1; 17th (107) NEW ENTRY we can collide -> Insomnio, Ryan (20) Another Avicii song leaves :drama: But this isn't one of my personal faves of his, especially this mix with Leona Lewis' vocals. The lyrics just don't impress me and she makes the song a bit boring. Fade Into Darkness on the other hand is brilliant, just goes to show how a vocalist can make all the difference to a good instrumental. E4a82LRNdlQ 40 Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais 'Summertime Sadness' (90) Semi Final 2: 23rd (83) NEW ENTRY i got that summertime sadness -> Ultraviolence (19) Starting off the top 40 is Lana Del Rey whose song got remixed and smashed in lots of charts. It's a great remix that makes the song a whole lot more interesting than the original. Her voice is very unique and so it does work on this song. Hopefully she her team decide to release a remix one of her Ultraviolence songs, but please not another Cedric Gervais remix  As Cedric's remixes since this have been a bit meh (Young & Beautiful/Adore You) But at least we get to appreciate this. akhmS1D2Ce4
August 3, 201412 yr Author 39 Kiesza 'Hideaway' (90) Semi Final 2; 22nd (84) NEW ENTRY you're just a hideaway -> jsliv (12) And finally we start off a section without an Avicii song :cheer: Which means Wake Me Up is a bit higher than #38. Yay. Anyway this is another brilliant song. Whilst it may only be this high because of its recentness, I do think it'll stay around this position next year too. Her recording voice is flawless and really suits the 90s esque dance beat. So excited for what she'll be doing next, and follow-up single Giant In My Heart proves that she's here to stay. Yays all round. ESXgJ9-H-2U 38 Whigfield 'Saturday Night' (91) Semi Final 1: 18th (104) NEW ENTRY saturday night i feel the air is getting hot -> ketalina (19) From a 90s wannabe record to an actual (a wild Jameela Jamil appears) 90s record, this one whilst being a bit cheesy is great fun and so so 90s. vyIAfEqA220
August 3, 201412 yr Author 37 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers 'Get Lucky' (93) Semi Final 2; 21st (85) DOWN 18 {19-37} we're up all night to get lucky -> RabbitFurCoat (17) This is a really funky song which smashed worldwide and brought all three artists in this song back to success. I've played this song so many times as it's so catchy and just a really well done song. The guitar riff and the production not having lots of new-sounding synths prove that simple can be effective. h5EofwRzit0 36 Madison Avenue 'Don't Call Me Baby' (93) Semi Final 2: 15th (117) UP 52 {88-36} don't call me baby -> AdamAloud (18) This is lovely too, the bassline is brilliant and it's an all-round great example of how 90s house-pop is done. Tn-qE-h7s84
August 3, 201412 yr Madison Avenue  I was always so shocked when it flatlined in at the bottom of the top 40 when it was first released. Thank god it had a successful re-release!
August 3, 201412 yr i'm quite perplexed at 'push the feeling on''s position but then again the fact it wasnt even INCLUDED last year is mental. yes for saturday night and don't call me baby <3
August 3, 201412 yr 'Touch Me' is far too low! :( It was absolutely massive here when it was released and it's one of the few tracks that I never get sick of listening to.
August 4, 201412 yr =150 Shut Up And Dance feat. Peter Bouncer 'Raving I'm Raving' (0) NEW ENTRY I'm raving I'm raving -> no-one The first of two tracks to get "nil points" is old-skool hardcore tune from 1992 which peaked at #2 in the UK chart. The track got infamous after the band were sued for ripping off Walking In Memphis without having the right to do so, and as a result, the track dived down the chart after being taken off sale. The song itself is quite good, it is typical early 90s dance and the sample works well in it imo, it's like a lighter version of The Prodigy. Now it is available to buy in a remix version which removes the sample, and as a result makes it sound like a different song. Here is the original for you to enjoy. VvqWtoa-Lfs Damn, I didn't see this rate or I would almost certainly have given points to this. The "remix" version was available in 1992 by the way, but it's absolutely awful. Worth pointing out that Shut Up and Dance were pioneers of breakbeat rave not "Prodigy lite" and that the Marc Cohn lawsuit effectively destroyed their label of the same name that had been instrumental in the rave scene. Not long after this was released, I sent of a postal order for a SUAD t-shirt and some slip matts but never received them du to the label having gone bust. I blame Marc Cohn for that.
August 4, 201412 yr Author 35 Calvin Harris 'I'm Not Alone' (93) Semi Final 2; 14th (118) UP 12 {47-35} could this mean that i'm not alone -> Jade (17) I'm Not Alone drops out which means there is just one Calvin song left in the countdown (We Found Love). The trance synths in this are really good, and while his singing voice isn't the best it works well in this song. a8TPXFoXO5A 34 The Prodigy 'No Good (Start the Dance)' (103) Semi Final 2: 25th (83) UP 24 {58-34} that's no good for me -> { bré } (20) Decent song, it's not The Prodigy's best in my opinion but Buzzjack collectively clearly love this the most out of all their efforts. wENI58mXZPE
