July 23, 201410 yr Author Chart Highlights:This week, "Rude" climbs in chart points by 7% while "Fancy" (amazingly) climbs by 2%. Despite Iggy's climb, the gap between the two now widens to 6% in MAGIC!'s favour."Fancy" is #1 on Streaming Songs for a 10th week (and up 16% to boot), which makes "Fancy" only the third song to top that chart for 10+ weeks, and Iggy the first artist not named Miley Cyrus to do so ("We Can't Stop" was #1 for 11 weeks, "Wrecking Ball" #1 for 13).With MAGIC!, Iggy and Sam Smith taking the top 3 spots, this is the first week that the top 3 was occupied by three artists on their first Hot 100 hits (as lead artists) since April 2012, when Gotye, fun. and The Wanted took the top 3 slots in that order with their own first hits."Weird Al" not only storms the album chart this week but also the Hot 100, as his "Blurred Lines" parody (aptly titled "Word Crimes") charts at #39. This is only his 4th top 40 on the Hot 100 but amazingly it means he matches Madonna and Michael Jackson as artists with top 40 hits in four different decades (he has grabbed one top 40 per decade to date). Michael has top 40s in 5 decades thanks to "Love Never Felt So Good", but it is probably worth noting that he wasn't actually alive when that happened.Digital track sales this past week totaled 20.4 million downloads, up less than 1 percent compared with last week (20.3 million) and down 11 percent stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (22.8 million).Year-to-date track sales are at 655.5 million, down 13 percent compared with the same total at this point last year (752.2 million).

July 23, 201410 yr 'Word Crimes' top 40 *.*.*.*.*.* If only the UK were so iconic. Woop for the climbs for Disclosure, Sia, Clean Bandit and Meghan Trainor also ^_^
July 24, 201410 yr Author BILLBOARD HOT 100 LW TW ARTIST - TITLE 07 06 John Legend - All Of Me I can't believe this is climbing again
July 24, 201410 yr Cannot believe Idina is gone already :o Feels like she's been around for all of five minutes :kink: So nice to see 'Bailando' climbing still  They better push it in the UK soon.
July 24, 201410 yr Bailando is such a good song. Why on earth did they think the Flo Rida collab should be released before it in the UK? Absolute madness. I'm sure it'll be a hit in the UK when it's released though.
July 24, 201410 yr Apparently (wikipedia says) Word Crimes going top 40 makes "Weird Al" Yankovic the third artist to have a top 40 hit in every decade since the 1980s, joining iconic artists Madonna and Micheal Jackson *.*
July 24, 201410 yr A fact that is quite surprising considering he only has 4 top 40 hits overall ('Eat It' #12 in 1984, 'Smells Like Nirvana' #35 in 1992, 'White & Nerdy' #9 in 2006 and of course now 'Word Crimes' #39 in 2014). He certainly takes his time between top 40 hits :P Amazing statistic for him though. That career longevity.
July 25, 201410 yr I can't believe this is climbing again  It hasn't been gaining in points in couple of weeks though, it's just been lucky. Next week it'll probably drop to around #10 if nothing unexpected happens. Edited July 25, 201410 yr by SKOB

Can't believe 'Fancy' is climbing in points despite its airplay dropping off so quickly now. It's defying Billboard's first law of longevity.
