That opening episode is how you DO an opening episode! Everything about it was absolutely brilliant. I honestly thought it was 'Hostel 4' or something right at the start  This is what I LOVE about this show, they aren't afraid to go against the general "TV rule" and just go for it, no holds barred. Not bothered about possible consequences. They don't hold back! Definitely gonna need a repeat viewing, it's just so much to take in!

Absolutely SMASHED the ratings!

8.7 and totalled 17 million viewers!!!

Yes a really good episode. My only gripe was that Terminus was bigged up for long, and to see it 'destroyed' in one episode was a slight letdown. Although I will guess Terminus will live on through their leader. Again their motives for being cannibals was slightly disturbing. I understand they 'took it back' but then to become so heartless themselves.. meh.

Anyway plenty of action. There's such a big cast now though, I can't see how they're all going to get amble screen time. I can see a mass culling soon, even more so since we still need Beth back, and they've just re-introduced Morgan (even though I can't see him lasting too long).

I think it's safe to say that Morgan being back and Beth still missing are connected. I hope this doesn't drag for a whole season like the search for Sofia.

Now as far as the rest of the characters are concerned, I can totally see Bob, Eugene and Rosita getting killed. Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) is the only new character that's in the main credits, very strange.

I loved the opening episode of Series 5. Restored my faith in the program. I'm glad that they didn't drag the Terminus thing out for too long (although I don't think we've seen the end of the leader).

I'm loving Carol.

Another fantastic episode. I love this new arc, there's something about cannibalism that makes it so much scarier than zombies have ever been.

True!

Zombies are so random now, it would feel very odd/boring that any character got killed by a zombie now

Did you not notice that Bob was bitten (or scratched, whatever), then? It was not clear, but the way he acted pretty much suggests that.

I've disliked the zombies for ages now. What's the challenge in a foe that can't think and strategise? It was the reason I loved the introduction of The Governor (until the writers dragged the bloody Woodbury thing out!) I'm back on track with it now - a foe that is capable of outwitting our heroes!

Still not a patch on the first series (I actually liked the 'soap' aspect of series 1 - even the first half of series 2).

That ending was pretty much gross, mind you I've eaten much worst on a Friday night

It was a trifle disturbing ... but if you've eaten a Subway sandwich - it ain't that bad!

Disturbing ending, but Bob was definitely bitten (or thought he had been at least).

Interesting to see the guy that Tyreese supposedly killed is still alive too!

I think he was bitten as he was acting strange he wanted to be alone and why would he ask Tyrese's sister for one last kiss.

But he could just be thankful and greatful that he actually survived and has finally found a group that accept him and has made him feel like he's part of the family. And he just needed a moment alone to appreciate it all. I think if he was bitten we would have seen him looking at his wound just before he got knocked out.

Very, VERY interesting ending. I'm loving how it will literally go anywhere now! Will Tyreese redeem himself and kill the guy that he supposedly already has? I think Carol will use that and throw it in Tyreese's face that she did what she had to with those two bodies etc.. and yasss! I knew he wouldnt be, but so glad Gareth isn't dead, yet!

No my first instinct when it happened was that Bob was bitten. His reaction after being taken underwater was strange, and then him crying outside was purpose to me. He'd struggled to be accepted in groups, and now he'd finally found hope and had no need to be alone... and then he's been bitten. Plus I think it would be funny to find out that Terminus have been nibbling on someone infected!

Ever since last season, they've really been big on foreshadowing. Like I found it interesting when Carol was reading the notes and it highlighted THOU SHALL NOT KILL - that scene reminds me so much of Saving Private Ryan, where they show the Nazi mercy, and in the end that Nazi actually kills the guy that showed him mercy and alerted his troop of the US' mission to hold the bridge. I do wonder if that guy might kill Tyreese/Sasha/Judith.

They wrapped this up pretty soon, and well! The pace of this season so far has been great. Really looking forward to learning what happened to Beth in the next episode. So glad it wasn't the cannibals that took her!

That episode was so good. Gutted about

Gareth not being in it longer, but at the same time, I'm glad they haven't dragged it out!

The pace of this season is massively reminding me of 'True Blood' and their most recent season though. Such a thrilling, well paced first 4 episodes or so, but I hope that unlike TB, TWS can keep some sort of momentum as opposed to just dropping the ball and never really, completely picking it back up/going at such a snail's pace for the rest of the season.

The pacing is very good this season. Probably the fastest since Series 1!

That sounds like usual TWD, though. I hope that's not the case this time.

Episode 4 :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I can't believe how amazing this season has been so far. Gareth and his team death was so unexpected, I thought they would be around for half the season at the very least. :o I felt such a relief when it happened! He was such a fascinating vilain though and contributed to most of the plot this series so I wonder how the show will evolve without him.

I bet Daryl has been captured by the other gang and he had to lead them to the group. Poor Michone :(
