I think it's fair to say that many people are really not liking this idea of streaming for many reasons. List yours below

My reasons [and will update]

1. Ella Eyre would have nearly been top 10 and would have held on a bit better

2. Charli XCX would have been top 5 with Boom Clap

3. Nicole Scherzinger would have got another top 3 hit with Your Love

4. All Of The Stars by Ed Sheeran deserved to be top 40

5. Money On My Mind got so many extra weeks

6. Jess would have gone top 4

7. The Vamps wouldn't have their lowest charting peak with their best single

8. Idina Menzel has fallen more every week

9. DJ Fresh would have had a bit better run and way better peak for his best song since Hot Right Now

10. Salute would have got an extra week in the top 40

11. Gorgon City would also have an extra week

12. MKTO would have a higher peak

13. Milky Chance would have a higher peak

14. Changes would have an extra week in the top 40

15. Paloma Faith would have been a lot higher on the other weeks and I think between 21-30 instead of 31-40 on all the weeks including steaming.

16. CHER LLOYD WOULD HAVE DEBUTED AT 32 WITH THE AMAZING SIRENS BUT INSTEAD IT DEBUTED JUST OUTSIDE THE TOP 40 AT 41 SO I DIDN'T GET TO HEAR IT ON THE CHART SHOW

NOW LET OUT YOUR ANGER AGAINST STREAMING

Let's start a Facebook campaign then ^_^
because it makes the chart a more accurate reflection of people's music tastes. I hate it when the charts do that  defeats the whole purpose of a popularity based music chart

For what it is worth, I do agree with Ultraviolence. So annoying to see Cher miss out on Top 40, but I think it is just going to become more common really. I think the right idea will be for acts to do a Magic/Nico & Finz and release tracks on streaming before so they stand a better chance on their actual release week.

Streaming in the charts is still relatively new, it was bound to knock certain tracks down the charts. As much as I'm gutted at Nicole missing out on a top 3 single (:snif:) I'm glad we have streaming included. It is indeed a fairer representation of the music being consumed and should hopefully stop non number 1's in the future.

Ask me again in a few weeks when The Sats have released and I'm sure my answer will be different though.

but I don't hate streaming!!!

the thing is of course the 'smaller hits' like Always/Louder etc. were going to be affected by streaming, i'd say this was to be expected though? It'll get very annoying at times (and annoyingly common too) i'm sure but there's really nothing we can do about that for now

I don't think it's really THAT frustrating unless the song perhaps misses out on a top 40 place entirely like Cher has. Charli XCX ending up at #6 is hardly the end of the world (especially when she hasn't had a proper solo hit before)

This thread is already getting out of hand so I'm just gonna close it before it gets any worse. Play nice please people ~
