Posted July 27, 201410 yr so 3 UK females have 4 #1s as a credited solo artist (let's not have the debate over what counts, for the purposes of this poll any song that made #1 with the vocalist credited counts) will any of them have a fifth #1? who will have it 1st? not sure myself but Cheryl Cole's got X Factor promo and another pre-album single so maybe she could do it. But I imagine Rita will be releasing her next single before that happens and she easily goes to #1 with pre-album singles these days so unless she makes something doomed to underperform I think it'll be her.
July 27, 201410 yr I'm kinda expecting Rita's next single to do a 'What Do You Take Me For?', maybe not THAT floppy but missing #1 at least. Whereas Cheryl is still clearly big enough to go to #1 with any pre-album single so failing some unforeseen catastrophe (or an extremely popular song, like 'Wake Me Up'/'Blurred Lines' level big, happening to be around) it should be a safe bet to give her the record.
July 27, 201410 yr Yeah I think Cheryl will probably manage it as she'll have an X Factor performance of her next single before her album release.
July 28, 201410 yr Well, Cheryl will definitely be the first to get 5 #1s as a lead artist at least ^_^ It really depends on the song for Rita. I find it difficult to imagine Cheryl missing #1 with her next single so the onus is really on Rita and what she has up her sleeve. Without Calvin on production duties I wouldn't be super sure, but she managed to get trash like her first two singles to #1 so I wouldn't put it past her.
July 28, 201410 yr Shame it won't be Adele, someone with talent who can sing. Yeah it will be Cheryl.
July 28, 201410 yr Rita's next one could miss #1 I think. Cheryl has the X Factor to help boost her so I'll be surprised if she isn't the first to 5.
July 28, 201410 yr I think Cheryl. If she releases her next single in time for a performance on week 1 of the X Factor live shows it is likely to be #1. Some people think Black Widow might get #1, but I highly doubt that personally (although it will be a big hit regardless).
July 28, 201410 yr Cheryl I think, although Rita does stand a chance if she plays it right with the next single, most definitely.
