August 26, 201410 yr #42 in the midweeks. They've sold #529 in the first midweeks. They are 30 sales behind #36 How many sales behind 41/40 then? Must be like 6?
August 26, 201410 yr It shouldn't be hard to overtake them then. A Little post on Facebook & Twitter would do the trick I bet. Edited August 26, 201410 yr by James ⭐
August 26, 201410 yr It would be great if play store put them on the 99p deal for a day. Albums usually climb like 10 - 20 places with that deal.
August 26, 201410 yr Oh I forgot it was on Google play store. They are in the 12th row on play store in new releases but aren't in the top 200 albums.
August 26, 201410 yr The album sales in general are pathetic at the bottom of the TOP 40. Two days on sale and the 40th best selling album is miles off selling even 1000 copies. Edited August 26, 201410 yr by Martyn
August 26, 201410 yr The digital age has really killed off album sales in general. It's hard to believe non-Q4 sales used to be quite a bit higher during the early-mid noughties. Pop acts are the most effected!
August 27, 201410 yr really hope that this will be steady seller, things might doesn't look good now, but when it comes busy months they should reduce collection.
August 27, 201410 yr It is actually so close. That TV advert could make All the difference now. They should put the ad on Youtube.
August 27, 201410 yr There's no point in a TV ad, really. :/ Not in terms of investment/costs and how much money/profit it will give back to the label. In fact, I believe that at the end of the day, there would be none at all and having TV ads would actually only make their debt grow even more. I reckon it's really expensive to get the good slots for the TV ad to air on and the girls would probably only get the odd ones, but still pay quite a lot for it. Can't blame them for acting that way, though. The expenses for LFTW must have been too big for the poor sales both the album and the latter singles had. 'On Your Radar' as well, I guess, although the era fared a bit better. They probably thought the Greatest Hits was an easy sell, not too much budget/costs and lots of sales in exchange, and thus would pay for all the previous expenses, but clearly it didn't turn out that way and therefore there's no point (to the label, I mean) in throwing more money at this flop, very much sadly. The album hasn't even sold half of Living For The Weekend yet...Really, even if it's because the album sales are disastrous at the moment, it's just not worth it on a commercial level. I do believe this is all because of a huge lack of hype and buzz around them, and obviously an immense lack of airplay support. If they can manage to fix these issues -- which is not impossible and could happen (but at this point in their careers, will they?) -- they are back on track, singles wise for the very least. They need to get as much endorsements as possible so they can built back a budget.
