September 7, 200618 yr Jeez Val, what's with the, "I'm sure most people are sick and tired of hearing replies to your barbed comments," ? I did say flopped or gone or both, I didn't say gone, dropped and never to be seen again did I? I just thought it was surprising how many there were in the chart, it's not my problem if you read more into it.
September 7, 200618 yr I'll have you know, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is set to make a triumphant return in the new year.

September 7, 200618 yr the main thing I remember about the charts for that following week was someone starting a thread at Dotmusic about Vanessa Carlton spending 4 weeks at #18. That and Sarah Whatmore entering the charts. Well, to be more exact I remember the video, with Sarah Whatmore cavorting on the beach...

September 8, 200618 yr I loved the Appleton one as well. Also liked their follow-up `Don't worry'. I was really surprised they didn't do better with that one.
September 8, 200618 yr That N-Trance song was brilliant-I bought it on the day it came out-shame it ended up at No.6 it had been forecast to go top 5-2001/2002 was a strong period for anything Kelly Llorenna related :-)
September 8, 200618 yr it wasn't really much better! 1 1 3 The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling) Atomic Kitten 2 NE 1 Got To Have Your Love Liberty X 3 NE 1 Papa Don't Preach Kelly Osbourne 4 NE 1 Nessaja Scooter 5 NE 1 I Love It When We Do Ronan Keating 6 NE 1 When I Lost You Sarah Whatmore 7 3 5 Round Round Sugababes 8 2 2 Fantasy Appleton 9 5 4 Addictive Truth Hurts featuring Rakim 10 NE 1 Walk On Water Milk Inc. 11 NE 1 Nothin' NORE 12 4 4 Crossroads Blazin' Squad 13 6 2 Forever N-Trance Featuring Kelly Llorenna 14 8 7 Colourblind Darius 15 11 6 Like A Prayer Mad'house 16 14 4 Starry Eyed Surprise Oakenfold Featuring Shifty Shellshock 17 10 3 Dy-Na-Mi-Tee Ms Dynamite 18 18 8 A Thousand Miles Vanessa Carlton 19 16 8 Underneath Your Clothes Shakira 20 9 4 What You Got Abs 21 15 5 Romeo Dunn Romeo 22 13 2 The Theme Jurgen Vries 23 17 3 Too Bad Nickelback 24 20 2 Have Fun Go Mad Tweenies 25 NE 1 Why'd You Lie To Me Anastacia 26 21 10 Anyone Of Us (Stupid Mistake) Gareth Gates 27 7 2 It's Written In The Stars Paul Weller 28 26 3 Love To See You Cry Enrique Iglesias 29 24 7 I Need A Girl (Part One) P Diddy featuring Usher and Loon 30 NE 1 Duck Toy Hampenberg 31 19 4 Just The Way Your Are Milky 32 NE 1 Gimme The Light Sean Paul 33 12 2 Two Months Off Underworld 34 22 5 James Dean (I Wanna Know) Daniel Bedingfield 35 27 8 Automatic High S Club Juniors 36 NE 1 Hands Around The World Death In Vegas 37 NE 1 Thoughtless Korn 38 23 7 Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head) Will Smith featuring Tra-Knox 39 32 13 Hot In Herre Nelly 40 28 4 I'm Alive Celine Dion God I remember this chart well! Scott Mills did the chartshow that week (IIRC the first time he had stepped in since finishing the Easter Sunday chart at 6:30), and at one point he 'accidentally' said that there was a brand new #1 - which led me to suspect some fishy behaviour... The week after that, there were 7 new entries in the top 10, and 11 in the top 20, and thankfully a new #1 - Pink's only solo #1 to date (Just Like A Pill).
September 8, 200618 yr That chart is pretty awful as well. Of all those new entries in the top 10 Sarah Whatmore's was probably the least rubbish- and When I Lost You wasn't much of a song. Sounded like a Kylie cast off. I agree that Automatic was much better though. I remember hearing Hampenberg- Duck Toy on the chart show. One of the most rubbish records ever. It was just someone squeezing a squeaky duck toy over a dance beat. I also seem to remember Scott Mills saying the album was called Duck Off.
