Jeez Val, what's with the, "I'm sure most people are sick and tired of hearing replies to your barbed comments," ? I did say flopped or gone or both, I didn't say gone, dropped and never to be seen again did I? I just thought it was surprising how many there were in the chart, it's not my problem if you read more into it.

the main thing I remember about the charts for that following week was someone starting a thread at Dotmusic about Vanessa Carlton spending 4 weeks at #18. That and Sarah Whatmore entering the charts. Well, to be more exact I remember the video, with Sarah Whatmore cavorting on the beach...

Of course you were.http://www.devotedfansnetwork.com/forums/images/smilies/kopfpatsch.gif

I loved the Appleton one as well. Also liked their follow-up `Don't worry'. I was really surprised they didn't do better with that one.
That N-Trance song was brilliant-I bought it on the day it came out-shame it ended up at No.6 it had been forecast to go top 5-2001/2002 was a strong period for anything Kelly Llorenna related :-)

God I remember this chart well! Scott Mills did the chartshow that week (IIRC the first time he had stepped in since finishing the Easter Sunday chart at 6:30), and at one point he 'accidentally' said that there was a brand new #1 - which led me to suspect some fishy behaviour...

The week after that, there were 7 new entries in the top 10, and 11 in the top 20, and thankfully a new #1 - Pink's only solo #1 to date (Just Like A Pill).

That chart is pretty awful as well. Of all those new entries in the top 10 Sarah Whatmore's was probably the least rubbish- and When I Lost You wasn't much of a song. Sounded like a Kylie cast off. I agree that Automatic was much better though.

I remember hearing Hampenberg- Duck Toy on the chart show. One of the most rubbish records ever. It was just someone squeezing a squeaky duck toy over a dance beat. I also seem to remember Scott Mills saying the album was called Duck Off.
