Yep happy with that. Great games ahead vs. Real Madrid plus 2 teams we should be finishing above
Tough draw for City but I can't see a Benatia-less Roma causing them too much trouble. Chelsea will be laughing.

One of the great escapes for Arsenal. 2 goals in the last 2 minutes phew!!! :drama:

They needed that, otherwise the guns would have been out for Wenger.. again!

Liverpool outclassed by Madrid. Their first goal was sublime, just the second and third in particular really hurt because they were avoidable. Still we played much better and showed that we can put a good performance in. Just a huge shame we don't have Suarez/Sturridge and our backline is constantly exposed.

The defending for the third goal was a shambles. Ronaldo's goal was predictably brilliant although Coutinho came close to scoring an even better one just before half-time.

Yep massive shambles. The thing is, individually I'm not sure it's the players bar Mignolet. I just don't think the system works. Then it set plays it just seems like a free for all. Very disappointing because we had the players to hurt Madrid. Thankfully Coutinho looks to be hitting some form after being abysmal for 2 months.

Rodgers just hasn't worked out the tactics to suit his new squad yet. It's bound to take time, at least they'll get plenty of practice in the Europa League :D

Not really that, our main problem at the moment is teams are playing 10 yards forward because we have no-one with pace to run in behind. Missing Suarez and Sturridge who have movement and can create space. End of the day Real Madrid are just better than Liverpool. We tried to compete with him and got beaten. No shame in that. Expect in the return leg we'll try and be a lot more conservative.

Actually think we could get out of the group if Basel-Ludogorets draw, is wide open anyhow.

Live Games:

Tuesday 17th February:

Paris Saint-Germain v Chelsea 19:45 [iTV]

Shakhtar Dontesk v Bayern Munich 19:45[sky Sports 5]

Wednesday 18th February:

Schalke v Real Madrid 19:45 Sky Sports 5]

Basel v Porto 19:45 Sky Sports 1]

Chelsea currently leading PSG 1-0 through Ivanovich. Classic Mourinho away performance so far, Cavani rivaling Falcao as worst "big name" South American striker atm!

Shaktar holding Bayern 0-0, playing hundreds of miles away from home in Lviv as their stadium has been bombed during the recent conflict. Shaktar not as good as a few years ago either.

Tempted fate with the Cavani comment  (but seriously even I could have finished that header with that (lack of) marking.

Chelsea will take a draw I feel, really can't see them losing at home. Not too bad from Shakhtar either but of course taking a draw to the Allianz is nowhere near enough.

A vital save from Courtois at the end.

A good draw for Chelsea you have to feel. Although where were the players to mark Cavani?

I've always found Cavani to be one of the most overrated players in the world - although that's largely based of European and Uruguay matches!

Solid result for Chelsea, they'll be confident of going through.

Basel were unlucky tonight, Porto didn't deserve that penalty. It was a f***ing scrappy match though, was sure a red would be shown to somebody.

What are people's predictions for the Man City v Barcelona match tonight?

I reckon it will be a 3-1 win to Barcelona.

Inches away.

I'd have said something like 2-2 before the game. City did what they needed to do and pressed for the first 15 minutes and in the second half until Clichy got sent off, but Barcelona just made more opportunities. It's incremental improvement - again - but they can't keep losing to good teams like this.

I thought City were quite lucky - they could have been out of the game at half time! Barca will beat them at the Nou Camp, but at least they're going with a chance. Be interesting to see whether they play a 4-5-1 rather than two up front. Their midfield got overran at times yesterday. Suarez putting all his doubters to shame too.. Messi should have given him the penalty.
