'Frozen' is a bit like what 'Confide in Me's is for Kylie - there's no song in the rest of her discography that sounds like it at all! Dark and haunting, really it quite the masterpiece.

 

 

I've always compared the two in the same way. For me, the best songs by each artist.

I can't really argue with the winner, it's not my personal favourite but it's still iconic and a fantastic song. 'Frozen' has always given me goosebumps every time I've listened to it and 'Hung Up' whilst very good is nowhere near her best song so I'm glad it didn't win.

 

The top 2 albums are my two favourites but Ray Of Light is easily the best for me, I consider it her opus but Confessions is a masterpiece too and holds so many memories. I went out to buy that during my lunch break at college on Monday and essentially outed myself to the whole class. :lol: But it was so good to follow that era and listen to the album obsessively for a long time.

Thanks for doing this.... Looking at the Top 10, it only goes to show how amazing Madonna's catalogue is. The Top 5 is full of top-notch material.

 

In my personal opinion, I deem songs like Vogue or Frozen to be better than Like A Prayer, but the latter is still a timeless classic nonetheless.

This was amazing! Excellent Top 10 overall, although I rate Into The Groove much more than a mere No.10. Great winner, nonetheless.

Quality thread. Even though I'm not a gay ( ;)) I do still like some Madonna songs. My top 10 is something like this...

 

1. Like a prayer = Top quality song, worthy winner.

2. Cherish = Powder puff pop yes but a different sound to it that I really like.

3. Frozen = Epic song

4. Promise to try = Beautiful sad song, alot of depth to it. Only discovered it through reading this thread actually!

5. Celebration = I had this on my running playlist for ages

6. Open your heart to me = Well constructed song, the pre chorus really sets up the chorus well.

7. Vogue = Monster pop song

8. La Isla Bonita = I like the latin feel of this one

9. Express Yourself = There's a reason Gaga ripped this off.

10. 4 minutes = gets me head bopping

 

As odd as it may sound....liking Madonna is not limited to gay people.
