Ed's album has been out since Summer and Take That's album only came out on Monday and TT always get Xmas #1. Last year, One Direction were on course for Xmas #1 album but were beat by Robbie Williams at the last minute. Also, Nicki Minaj is meant to be releasing her album next Monday and her previous album managed to stop Labrinth from getting a #1 album. Besides, Olly Murs, 1D and Sam Smith are all performing on next weeks X Factor final so they will definitely be contenders for Xmas #1 album

Ed's album being out since the summer didn't prevent him from outselling TT every day bar Monday last week as I said in my post and you seem to have ignored. I'm sure there'll be plenty of competition for #2 with Olly, 1D and Sam Smith all also performing on the XF final, but I really don't see anyone else even coming close to Ed.

I'd say it will most likely be a close race between Sam and Ed

Singles wise, I have said it before and i'll say it again: Sam Smith MUST perform 'Leave Your Lover' on X Factor. It'd be silly not to give such a gorgeous track the exposure it deserves.

Would be a very big top 10/#1 contender if he did it tbh and do wonders for the album.

I will dive for the mute button no matter what Sam Smith performs tbh, unless it's I'm Not The Only One which is his only good song this era (obviously La La La and Latch were tunes and I like Nirvana).

Am I reading this right are you saying that Nicki Minaj has a chance of No1 when her albums released next week on Xmas week? She would have to sell around 100k copies that week to have a chance and she doesn't even have any history of doing that and it's not like this era has been huge for her yet either

She has history of being #1 but the first week sales for her album were poor

She'll be lucky to make top 10 realistically

Christmas is a big factor though, same for an artist like Kiesza last week!
And don't forget its not just X Factor they are performing on, The Royal Variety Performance is on tonight, BBC1 Awards on Thursday, Olly Murs TV special on Friday, so album sales will just increase day by day, which is just a step up for a boost next week.

Hopefully Nicki Minaj will be a surprise guest / duet partner for Fleur next week, she needs something to boost the album in the UK.

All of this.

Ed will #1. Ed and only Ed.

Would be quite interesting to see how each guest's song charted after their XF performance...I am right in thinking that only Ed and Take That went to #1 the Sunday after their performances?

Correct.

Looking at the performances on the final that have been announced, either there is more to be added to the current guest line-up or an act may perform twice. I wouldn't be shocked if Ed and Sam are guest AND duet performers.

Indeed, im looking forward to seeing the effect of Ollys tv special on his album. Is there any other xmas tv specials? Theres usually one on the Sunday night after the XF final, thats when i presumed Ollys would be?

According to Digital Spy Ed will be singing 'Photograph',1D will be performing 'Where do Broken Hearts go?',Meghan Trainor 'All About that Bass',Take That 'Rule the World' and Sam Smith with 'Stay with Me'
That seems....unlikely. Why would Take That sing a song that's 7 years old and 1D sing an album track when they have the Night Changes EP out on Sunday...

In fairness TT are singing it with Fleur, Ben and Andrea apparently which makes more sense.

Seems a bit silly for 1D to sing that though and Sam has his Christmas song out (although ideally he'd do a cover of 4'33...)!
